We'll never know why he's going I think, it could be money, ambition or a clash with Koeman.

It doesn't really matter though, as no matter what the reason, it's a terrible mistake for him. He won't end up at a better place than Everton - maybe in terms of league places, but Barkley is very susceptible to what you could call the "Rodwell Route".

An absolute crying shame the whole thing.

Unless he spoke to the negotiating team I'd doubt he'd find that out. Koeman doesn't get involved and I doubt Ross's camp would disclose a contract they rejected.

Unfortunately, in my eyes, everything is pretty much speculation.

Yep, probably true. My mistake was looking at it from a common sense viewpoint. Barkley, it seems, simply doesn't have common sense.

How he can look at the situation and believe moving is the best course for him is ridiculous, but hey ho, let's see how we stand at the end of August before panicking about the situation.
