Koeman: "Barkley looking for a new challenge"

I wonder if he may go overseas now but its a big fee....or let his contract run down and go to Spain...

It's strange to me understanding why he would go to Spurs, especially in a World Cup year. He isn't better than their starters and is probably a bench warmer at best and will probably get less game time than he would here. I know the contract played a massive part but this just screams massive wedge and London lifestyle to me more than footballing reasons.

Can't see him getting the wages we offered if he goes abroad tbh. Ultimately, he's not tested at the highest level, so those clubs are unlikely to pay that much.

just edited my post

Big fee / wages so perhaps he will run down his contract.

To be honest if I was advising barkley it would have been 2 choices. Sign for big money 100k+ or wind down the contract and try and get a move to spain or Italy to kickstart your career.

losing all of lukaku, barkley and deulofeu in one window has been a bit upsetting tbh, i thought one max, would leave.

But but but....we signed Rooney :o

Pickford and Keane are the 2 big moves forward for me...but not enough to get over the loss of those 3 and Stones last season.

If I was him I'd be off somewhere like Fiorentina. Live in a boss city where no one knows him, experience a different culture and play football at a walking pace where he'd probably dominate games. Doubt he's got it in him though, like most English players.

Would prefer to have heard from Barkley's side in the past few months - the silence has done him no favours - we'll probably never know.

Looks as though he'll be leaving through the side door at Goodison - no big fan revolt persuading him to stay - and the saddest part is that there is no queue of stellar sides wanting his services.

I'd like think he's been badly advised but I really have no idea.

Jesus man, hardly pulling up trees with any of them in the side were we?

Of the 4, only Lukaku was excelling.

This is one of those situations were people build something up that was never as good as we thought it was because it has gone.

What I don't get with Esk,
Why doesn't he just say the opposite of what he thinks then he would be a legitimate itk.

Think he'll miss us more than we miss them. Hopefully Sigurdsson is wrapped up soon, he's a definite upgrade purely because he has bottle and Ross doesn't. Swansea would definitely have been relegated last season if they had Barkley instead of Siggy.
