Koeman: "Barkley looking for a new challenge"

For Barkley to have stated he wants a new challenge to me smacks of absolute nonsense. He has obviously been got to either through his well documented problems in the city or through his agent and another club. Once he leaves and no longer wears our blue shirt I have zero interest in his career. His decision making appears absolutely ridiculous just at the time when the club has actually looked like it wants to build a team and to actually challenge for honours he decides his boyhood club isn't for him. For me this is worse than when Rooney left as at least he could see the club was going nowhere and his fee would keep us afloat, whereas this decision appears to have no real logic.

Off to challenge himself by earning maybe 20 grand more than we offered. Sat on a bench moping. All because he couldn't handle being told he's not half as good as he thinks he is. Toodlepip underachiever.

City bought Stones because he's English and can play out from the back, so far he's won zilch there and cost them a lot of goals and got benched. Delboy was not a starter for us under Koeman or Martinez mostly, he was sold because Barca wanted a cheap bench player so why not being back one of their own. Barkley ain't going to be a regular starter at any club above us, he might not even move to a bigger club. I exempted lukaku in my post because he will do very well I'm sure.

I feel the squad, bar the loss of lukaku and presuming siggy replaces Ross is much stronger now yes.

Which is fine.

Ronko has to deliver then. Because if we've pulled the rug on City etc by selling these inferior players, then he has to prove it.

With the under 23s winning the league last year dont even think he should be allowed to train with that squad let alone make the team!

Barkley will end up being a 'could have been' unfortunately. Maybe he realises he has one big contract left in him before people realise he will never fulfill his much touted 'potential'?

Jesus man, hardly pulling up trees with any of them in the side were we?

Of the 4, only Lukaku was excelling.

This is one of those situations were people build something up that was never as good as we thought it was because it has gone.

Because we didn't have enough quality around them. Imagine if we had Pickford instead of Howard in Martinez last season...or Keane playing alongside stones.

Now, weve got a few elements of quality in to add to an improved midfield and yet it feels like weve lost our 'stars'

Is it so hard to admit the following...

He wants to play for a manager who believes in him
He thinks Spurs are a better bet than Everton to win things
He wants to play in the CL and test himself against the best whilst our team are testing themselves against eastern European no mark outfits

It's just where we are in terms of development and the fact his own manager doesn't want him here.
