Mate, I have sympathy with any view that Barkley is thin skinned and maybe doesn't fancy digging in and ramming any doubts Koeman has about him right in the bin. That would be me. But you know we're not all made in the same shape and size and mental make up.Not in public, certainly, although Ross doesn't seem the type to say much in private, either. (One of my concerns about him as a player is the timidity with which he approaches big games. If he had the self-belief of much less talented players, like Henderson, then he'd be well on the way to being a great.)
"Clash" then, is, if not the wrong word, then not the only word. "Crush" you might say, perhaps, or "challenge" or "victimisation". I've not had too much of a problem with this, to be honest. I know Koeman has said more about him than any other player - and has probably been asked more about Ross than any other player - but I don't think I've seen anything that was unfair. Perhaps it was simply unfair to say anything, but I've not seen anything that I thought was too harsh. And he has been offered a new, reportedly highly lucrative contract, which suggests Koeman still wants him.
Regardless of the nature of the relationship, though, I still wouldn't be surprised if there's something fishy going on. Ross's complete silence - and his agent's - just adds to this for me. These days, it's very unusual for not even a peep to come out of the camp of such a high profile player.
Or get £30m And remove the problem that way !...We could just employ 4 really big lads to look after him......or 6 really big lads to remove the problem......

The lad needs a different type of manager. I think that is abundantly clear. There's blame to be shared here on this issue, but for my money the bulk of it rests with the manager.
I'd back Pochettino or Wenger or whoever to get the very best out of Ross.
I dont see how. The stats wouldn't back it up for sure. But I'd wager a fair few on here believe Ross played better under Koeman than he did under Martinez.
Only he had his best ever season last season under Koeman, who got him actually contributing when we were out of possession, something that El Fraudo had failed to get across to him in 3 years.Mate, I have sympathy with any view that Barkley is thin skinned and maybe doesn't fancy digging in and ramming any doubts Koeman has about him right in the bin. You mean like how MOPO got the best out Sissoko , Dave ???Mate, I have sympathy with any view that Barkley is thin skinned and maybe doesn't fancy digging in and ramming any doubts Koeman has about him right in the bin. HeadshotThe stats seem to back it up more than you think they do. Under Koeman, he scored five goals and had eights assists in 36 appearances. That's 0.189 goals and 0.222 assists per game. In three years under Martinez, he had 16 goals in 101 appearances, for a slightly better 0.158 goals/game, but only 10 assists, a measly 0.099/game. That tells me he was far more integral to the team's overall play under Koeman that he was under Martinez.
Ain't that the truth .No top manager is a pushover . Imagine how Alex Ferguson would react to Ross ... It doesn't bear thinking about !It'll certainly be interesting to see who comes in for him. All the top managers are demanding in their own ways. I can't see anyone giving different instructions to Koeman, although the way of giving them might differ. I wonder if Mourinho'll come in for him. He made Joe Cole into a different player to the one at West Ham (I know he didn't buy him) and Cole came through with pretty much the same reputation and anticipation as Barkley.
Stats say 'No'.Only he had his best ever season last season under Koeman, who got him actually contributing when we were out of possession, something that El Fraudo had failed to get across to him in 3 years.
Only Ross appears to prefer the smoke up the arse method of management, good luck finding that under Poch you daft lad.
