Koeman: "Barkley looking for a new challenge"

Well Koeman has been managing for 17 years an never won a trophy of note.

He shows way more potential to land a major trophy than Koeman. I doubt Koeman will ever manage in the CL by the way, something that Pochettino has achieved a couple of times.

Every league win as a coach was followed by a season in the CL. He made it to the quarter finals at least twice:

2001: Lost QF with Ajax against AC Milan (in injury time)
2005: with Benfica eliminated Man United, FC Porto, Liverpool, lost to Barcelona in the QF.

Another time your original argument goes out of the window, Dave.

Your opinions have more holes in them than a sieve.

Koeman - Goes to Southampton and improves them.

Koeman - Goes to Everton and improves them.

Come on mate. It's hardly revolutionary stuff to get two halfway acceptable top half PL finishes is it?

I honestly felt threatened by relegation under Martinez. I think he has done a solid job so far here and doesn't deserve the harsh criticism you give him.

I think he did a great job at Southampton. They're calling it a 'Big 6' and he managed to get a club like Southampton, who sold most of their top players into it.

Give credit where it is due.

Threatened by relegation = 11th.

You should have been here when Moyes took us to 17th and Smith near destroyed us.

I was there then, too.

When we sacked Martinez, we were 13th, btw.

We were getting smashed week-in-week-out towards the end of Martinez' reign. He showed no signs of improving.

That West Ham home game is probably the worst bit of management I am ever likely to see.

Koeman coming in and getting that team into the Top 7 and allowing us the chance to compete in Europe shows how good a manager he is.

That team's confidence must have been shot after Martinez had a hold of it.

Yeah, stupid mistakes like that which no one should be arsed about bringing up. Like your one and mine.

Or a mistake like stating that koeman will never manage in the champions league like pochettino has, when in fact he's managed about five times as many games in it already mate?

Also done far better with a far worse team in it as well.
