Koeman: "Barkley looking for a new challenge"

That should never happen. With lesser talent who wont make such a dent into club finances it might be forgivable. But this lad is family silver and my suspicion is that there was no attempt by the manager to keep Barkley beyond the end of this season and therefore the club didn't act earlier and forcefully enough to tie him down. Basically the club officers and board have been weak. Now the club lose out on at least £20M-£30M in fees on Barkley....and could get nothing still if Barkley sees out this contract here.

Gross irresponsibility.
Thinking of the turgid players who got a contract offer honoured by Everton when Koeman came in, I think it can't be laid at the feet of Koeman. Especially as Ross had 2 years left. From the way he spoke about it in the press conferences it seemed Ron was under the impression that a contract offer was made already, then later said there hasn't been an offer later on in the season. I don't think Ron gets involved in the contract side of things as he's always alluded to.
He clearly doesn't think Ross is a good as hyped up to be (which he isnt), but I don't think he wants rid.
If Ross was such a superblue, he'd sign a contract with a CL release clause. If Ross was a bit more professional & hardnosed, he'd just work his arse off to prove Ron wrong- plus knowing he's likely be at EFC longer too.
Ross looked a more complete player second half of the season. I would be devastated if Ross went- I want to see him Schneiderlin with Ross a bit higher then him in a CM role, particularly at home. Schneiderlin-gueye partnership leaves a good third to half of the pitch gap to the attackers- a big reason for the sideways passing.

Edit: sorry for the block of text. Been vomiting all morning & dehydrated/delirious

I feel let down by the lad I've always had his back i use always tell people calm down shouting their heads off as soon as he got on the ball not sure what's happened here is he chasing the money? Thinks he's better than the club? doesn't want to work with Koeman? Horrible situation especially if he's still here after the window and ends up leaving on a free next summer

Spurs will effectively get one of the best young players in the country for about £15M-£20M when the Sigurdsson sell on is taken into account. With today's prices and how expensive quality young English talent is that is a first rate mugging. You do indeed have to take your hat off to Levy. He's probably in contact with Swansea's new owners telling them they can both win big if they stay resolute over Sigurdsson.

If we sell Barkley for 20 million and then buy Sigurdsson for 50 million it's hard to say we haven't been fleeced !

Well Barkley has 12 months remaining on his contract so his value is automatically decreasing by the day; we need to cash in soon or risk losing him for nothing.

He's refused to sign a contract and put the club in a bad position; it won't stop the vultures circling and looking for an opportunity to have a pop at the club like

If we're having a go at anybody here it should be Ross. He didn't have to keep the club hanging on for months for a decision on his contract. He knows the score : he knows that he is worth millions to his boyhood club. And that he can extend his contract and still be able to force a sale at any point in the future. In short, he's screwed us over.

He informed the club/Koeman end of last season?!

Koeman and Everton fc were the ones who have dragged this out.

They've had many opportunities to tell us of barkleys decision! But decided to remain silent, making out it was barkley who was keeping quiet about the situation

This club has been getting fleeced all summer. By my rough calculation currently there's been an overspend on Klaassen, Pickford and Keane to the tune of £25M-£35M. If Sigurdsson is bought at £50M the mugging is of the order of £45M-£55M.

The PL no mark clubs have been queuing up like a grasping family at the reading of a maiden aunts will to rob Everton of its prize possessions.

No they won't. Because he's too bloody inconsistent! Has been all last season. The measure of performance is delivery against ability, and he has failed miserably in that department. Lesser players delivered more for the club last season in terms of passion and commitment and application on the pitch. He is a talent waiting to be fulfilled, and he didn't seem to be bothered to do so on the pitch with us...

Lol.

No. The club let this get into a position where he'll leave for next to nothing and all because they failed to exert financial discipline over its manager.

Or he is desperate to make the England squad for the World Cup and no matter what form he is in, at Everton he doesn't get a look in?!

He was our next best player after Lukaku last season. Anyone who didn't see that need to have a word with themselves.
