That's a fair summation in my opinion. The club may have been a tad complacent thinking because Ross was a local lad, had come through the ranks, was a blue etc that it was a forgone conclusion that he would sign a new contract.
Obviously it's just my opinion like, but I still think the relationship between Koeman and Barkley had become strained and that's why Barkley wants out.
Oh I'm sure there will be a few in for him but the later they leave it, the lower the fee.So, who exactly, is in for him?
Don't agree, the lad was our second most valuable asset, you don't leave it to run down you try to do the deal early. Different if player is older and not worth too much.
Not hindsight just basic management. It's not rocket science.Hindsight.
Still doesn't change the fact he was our second most valuable asset after Lukaku.'Second most valuable asset' who was in and out of the team, was not fulfilling his potential, had lost his England place, had one good game in three etc. etc. He was an asset in decline who could no longer get an easy ride because of his 'youth and potential.
Why ?Still doesn't change the fact he was our second most valuable asset after Lukaku.
I,m not going to criticise Ross Barkley in any way, he has had his peaks and his troughs as all players do, sadly the lad hasnt lived upto expectations and now he wants out.
Made his intentions loud and clear and sorry but its goodbye Ross.
Nobody is bigger than the club
Spot on mate. This is totally illogical. Ross is a massive asset for the club, that's why we should have been doing what we did with Lukaku, offering a new deal 30 months before current deal runs out. The club are the ones who lose by not sorting out a deal.
His agent benefits more if he is either sold or offered a big signing on fee if his contract runs out.
In this situation the club can only do its job properly and that's to protect its asset by offering a deal well in advance. That's the only thing the club can control, it can't control what the player/agent does. The club failed to do this. This is not rocket science it's basic contract management.
Still doesn't change the fact he was our second most valuable asset after Lukaku.
So the club should of pandered to people on an internet forum having a meltdown because they wanted an answer now?! It's not the club's fault if people drew the wrong conclusions about what was going on. Should they of made a public stament to simply satisfy people's curiously and potentially cost the club money? Maybe they were trying to change his mind but wanted to keep the whole episode behind doors.
I'm gonna say this again, it is not the job of Everton Football Club to pander to a bunch of bad bedwetting virgin's on an internet forum cryarseing because a player wants out.
