Koeman: "Barkley looking for a new challenge"

Sorry mate that's rubbish, if Barkley wanted to go last season then why did he not put in a transfer request last season ? It's the players prerogative if they want to move. Everton had and have every right to try and persuade Ross to sign a new deal.

Maybe because he has respect for the club?

Imagine the uproar if he had handed in a transfer request?!

No but a lot of hatred towards barkley is because he supposedly left the club in limbo when he actually hadn't?!
Well that's hardly the club's fault is it? How can the club be held accountable for people forming ill informed opinions? Bottom line is that the club has tried to conduct it's buissness behind closed doors and Ross has made that position impossible by refusing to sign. He wants out? He gets out providing our price is matched. The fact remains that he's in no way shape or form the victim here.

BTW, what "hatred" are you talking about? Most reactions I've seen are people saying come on Ross sign and then getting impatient when he didn't but i've not seen anything even close to hatred, disappointment and resentment that an alleged boyhood blue could do the dirty on the club when its offering a brilliant deal but that's hardly hatred.

It's obvious that his actions have nothing to do with respect. Its cowardice pure and simple, he wants out but he doesn't have the bottle to go public about it so he's fannying around running down his contract leaving the club in a no win situation. There wouldn't be an uproar at this stage if he handed in a transfer request, he might even get a bit of respect that he's finally manned up and said he wants to leave pubically rather then acting like a scared little schoolboy.

He doesn't need to hand a transfer request in though mate because Koeman has already said Ross is not signing a new contract, and is looking to move on, obviously it looks like we've accepted that, the next step is for a club to actually come in for him, until that happens his contract is going to run down because no bids have come in.

Yes mate I know that. At this stage it's pointless but I was responding to the idea that their would be uproar if he did hand one in.

I can't see anyone coming in with a valuation close to what we want mate. Think we're either gonna get royally done over or let him rot. If that's the options I'd rather we chose the latter.

Or maybe because he doesn't want to lose 10% of the transfer fee, or is trying to run his contract out and leave on a free. Maybe he should be showing Everton more commitment and have more belief in us, as we are in Europe this season, buying new players improving the team and are definitely a team on the up, don't you agree ?

Would imagine Ross is being told by his agent to keep stum and let him handle it all, probably the wrong advice IMO, a few honest words from Ross wouldn't go amiss, he doesn't have to say anything that gets into a slanging match.

well all the people who laughed about spurs being interested, pochettino has pretty much confirmed their interest in an interview with ESPN.

YER BUT ONLY WEST HAM WILL WANT HIM

Oh he's been horribly advised. Ross has well and truely backed himself into a corner now, nobody wants to pay our price and we don't want to sell. He could end up with the club making him train with the kids for the year just to make a point. If that was to happen i can see Ross begrudgingly signing a contract and going next summer. I think it more likely that he'll be a panic buy for somebody on deadline day.

Ross doesn´t deserve all the grief people are going through over this. Flatters to deceive. Will be playing for Newcastle or West Ham in 2 years time.

lol how is that not confirming their interest ? he just say no if they had no interest.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino was non-committal when questioned over a potential move for Everton’s Ross Barkley.

However, when speaking to ESPN about the 23-year-old’s situation, Pochettino simply replied “we’ll see”.

For what its worth, not a chance he leaves us for any team "below us", but thats not confirming anything IMO, I guess you take it how you want it.
