I'll grant you he has every right to be bloody fuming that we sold Lukaku and haven't brought in big striker to replace him yet, and that the club have dithered over the Siggy deal. Having said that, the signings earlier in the window were done quickly in plenty of time for a full preseason.

If he gets the striker, Siggy, and the CB he wants then he has nothing to complain about. Over to the board to sort it out.

And I'd agree with him on that - a quality striker, Sigurdsson and a decent CB to partner Keane and we're much stronger than last season.

If we sign Sigurdsson, a CF, and a CB, then let's see. Koeman has done his job. He's indicated who he wants, it's now up to the D of F to get the targets and the Board to give him the money to do it. If we gotta sell a couple to do it, so be it.

We play in a unique league in Europe really where there are half a dozen or so strong teams setting their sights on champions league qualification. Last season saw man utd without champions league football and this season will see arsenal without it.

The teams above us have strengthened, bar Spurs, so we need to improve as well to keep the gap between us the same, and improve even more to close it.

Our mission to close the gap to the top 4 is likely to take a few seasons of decent purchases and careful youth recruitment.
