Kone Signs on 3 Year Deal

He was rested due to the impact Ramadan had on his preseason. The fact that jelavic was sold despite kone being injured, and only scoring 1 premier league goal in 2013 days it all.

Do you honestly think kone was behind jelavic? Martinez gave him his initial chance to prove himself and was cast off.

If jelavic was a pure goalscorer as he had been early on in his Everton career I don't believe Martinez would have signed Kone

So he was never 1st choice then? yes i do believe he was behind him as Jelavic was picked ahead of him.

Martinez must have thought he wasn't good enough to lead the line as well because he signed Lukaku, which brings us back to the point that a club in our financial position can't afford to be spending £5m on 29 yr old back ups with nothing coming in at the end of it.

Lukaku only came about when he enquired about demba ba. Which at that stage was only because we had money to spend after selling Vic.

Rm sold 2 strikers after he bought kone, kinda tells its tale I think.

he also signed 2 whats that got to do with it?

What tells the tale is that he was never ever picked to start a league game for his even though Jelavic was in poor form yet you are trying to construct reasons as to why he was 1st choice.

he wasn't bought as backup though, he was bought to compete with jelavic. let's be honest, teams like liverpool are spending £13m on backups like borini who are a bigger waste. spurs spent £26m on someone who's been utter dirge, it happens. it's a squad game at the end of the day.

Whenever someone says flagged an image pops up of lots of folk waving bright coloured flags to the person whose been "flagged" as some form of flag celebration. An Olympics like celebration you may suggest, except there's no medals involved but the person who is being "flagged" does receive a mini replica flag of their choice as a free gift.
