I would try punt him off in January, who knows a club in a bad situation needing a goal scorer may take the risk on him for a reduced fee say £2 mil

Liverpool :)

Narr too be honest for what we could get for him he isnt worth selling. Once he comes back to fitness a few goals towards the end of this season, as the FA cup and Europa league games stack up the fixture list will be worth more than a small fee

He'll be done mate imo his pace if he had any will be gone and his movement will be much poorer especially If the pain in the knee never fully goes

Any Everton player can get injured at any time
Do we just junk them?
Kone has been so unfortunate it's unbelievable
Mirallas got injured shortly after joining, he was out for a while but lucky for him he hadn't missed a few goal chances
He was junk to begin with mate. Woeful player and the only reason some of us think he has something to offer is because he gave Heitinga the run around a few times.

Amazing the number of people on here who knew in Summer 2013 that we were swapping Jelavic and Anichebe for Eto'o and Lukaku.

Wish I had, would have made the intervening transfer windows much less stressful.

£6M for a striker with double figures in the premier league is, rightly or wrongly, peanuts. The transfer market doesn't care what Evertonins would like to get for their money. We could have had a worse player for the same money, or a similar player for more money. Bobby went with what he knew in a position that direly needed patching up.

And now we have Eto'o *shrug* Wish Kone all the best, and if he gets fit again, great. If not, it's a perfectly reasonable sunk cost and I hope the lad enjoys his retirement.

If fit last season he would have got a game. And I'm sure if he ragains full fitness he will be called upon this season. You couldn't predict he would get an injury like that, it's just one of those things. Like I said, I don't personally rate him. But after the season he had £5m was a decent price for a back-up striker. Just hasn't worked out because of the injury yet, and it might never. But it's just bad luck not a bad signing. Signing average players like Heitinga, Bily and Neville who got into the first team annoys me more.

£5m is not a decent price for a back up striker when your not going to get any of it back due to his age, thats the whole point. He has done his cruciate before and had another seperate long term knee injury a few years ago. So an old player who was prone to knee injuries gets another 2 knee injuries while he was here is just bad luck??

I absolutely cannot believe you're telling me Heitinga & Neville were worse signings than Kone that just lunacy.
