Last Film You Watched

Watched William Friedkin's "Sorceror" last night. An interesting failure - visually and sonically incredible filmmaking.

A lost globe-hopping crime adventure thriller which had the misfortune to be released at the same time as Star Wars in May '77 and was subsequently buried at the box office.

Apparently it was a logistical nightmare to film and Friedkin was an absolute tyrant on set.

Trippy Tangerine Dream Soundtrack and a nice sweaty tension to it. Some great location shots.

Also, along with Ridley Scott's "Alien", it ties for the best trailer of the 1970's.

Most people have never heard of it, let alone seen it - check it out. It's definitely worth your time, especially in a HD/Blu-ray format.

Watched the new Predator film the other night. Was alright but not one that i would want to watch again. Some of the acting/actors and lines were a bit cringe worthy at times i thought tbh but thats just me.

So, after discussing the Clint Eastwood (Man With No Name trilogy) on this thread a few pages back, I ranked the three movies as such:

1) The Good, The Bad And The Ugly
2) For A Few Dollars More
3) A Fist Full Of Dollars

I hadn't seen them for a while and was curious to see if my mind had changed, so this weekend I watched them again in chronological order, and yes, most definitely my mind has changed.

For all its brilliance, The Good, The Bad And The Ugly is not my favorite anymore. For A Few Dollars More is now my favorite. There is a little 'too much' civil wars stuff going on in the third movie, its overly long, too many characters and I much prefer Indio (evil badass) over Tuco (too much comedy). I prefer my westerns with much fewer characters, watching them develop (think High Noon, Pale Rider, Unforgiven). For this reason I now put The Good, The Bad And The Ugly behind the other two.

It's such a weird film. It takes ages to work itself out and the whole beginning is like its from three other films. Took me a while to sit through it, and even now I can't remember what actually happens. Peak Scheider though, disappointing how his career panned out.

@Nymzee i watched the movie with the machine cities today...

Honestly it was absolutely terrible...in every way imaginable...id wait till its online.

I dont even have the energy to slate it.

Worst movie ive ever seen is Valhalla Rising and this was the noisy version...

Oh don’t you worry I went Sunday and agree.

Visually spectacular at times, it had a nice theme to it but executed really badly, actors sucked, lots and lots of stereotypes & any hint of a plot twist you could guess in the first 10 minutes.

I should have gone to see Spider-Man.
