It's such a weird film. It takes ages to work itself out and the whole beginning is like its from three other films. Took me a while to sit through it, and even now I can't remember what actually happens. Peak Scheider though, disappointing how his career panned out.

It's certainly a strange relic from the era when young hot-shot directors were entrusted by Hollywood studio with big budgets. I like the fact it was so sprawling, The Jerusalem and New Jersey segments could have easily been expanded in to their own movies. It also looks fantastic, was clearly a nightmare to make though. Great soundtrack as well, really unique. The director is notorious for having temper tantrums on set, the cast are clearly worn out by the end of the picture. Peter Biskind's "Easy Riders, Raging Bulls" has a terrific segment on Friedkin and his pictures from the 70's - an essential read for anyone into cinema of that era

Absolutely!

'Gods and Monsters' and in particular 'Down and Dirty Pictures' are also great reads.

Mission implausible: Fallout.
Actually quite enjoyed it. Cruise is terrific for the humour value alone. I love how every silhouette of him approaching the leading lady looks like a scene grabbed from Gnomio and Juliet. The leading ladies are both Lovely though sooo 6.5/10.
Oh and Pegg needs to go back and revisit Spaced for a last season Coz he was funny in that....not in this.

Pegg needs to jib the "Wacky Brit" sketch off he he does for Hollywood it's excruciating and does him no favours. Apparently a red as well so he can fork raar off....

Aquaman,

And it was really good. Even if you're a little sceptical over DC films after some of the recent poor offerings this one is fantastic. Don't be put off, check this out. You won't regret it. A great retelling of the story that's fun for both newbies with zero knowledge of the character and old school fans alike.

100% recommend.

Watched William Friedkin's "Sorceror" last night. An interesting failure - visually and sonically incredible filmmaking.

A lost globe-hopping crime adventure thriller which had the misfortune to be released at the same time as Star Wars in May '77 and was subsequently buried at the box office.

Apparently it was a logistical nightmare to film and Friedkin was an absolute tyrant on set.

Trippy Tangerine Dream Soundtrack and a nice sweaty tension to it. Some great location shots.

Also, along with Ridley Scott's "Alien", it ties for the best trailer of the 1970's.

Most people have never heard of it, let alone seen it - check it out. It's definitely worth your time, especially in a HD/Blu-ray format.

Great sound track and the visual experience is excellent....have you seen the original film called "Wages of Fear" made in 1953?

reccomended
