Last Film You Watched

Not often you say this about a Netflix film, but this excellent.

Henry V and the Battle of Agincourt.

Timothee Chalamet a relatively unknown American actor, who plays the young Henry V is standout and is surely a future star. Cracking supporting cast too.

Won’t be for everyone as there’s a lot of politics involved too.

Would’ve happily gone to the cinema to see this.

Recommended if you like well made historical films.
Glad to hear this was good - will add it to my Netflix watchlist. Is this the film where R-Patz has a cameo as the Dauphin???

It’s a bit more than a cameo, as although he’s not in it that much, he’s central to the film.

The young American lad who plays Henry is astonishingly good and his English accent is perfect.

Brad Pitt is one of the producers too.

I never like films that are essentially a reverence for a famous individual or event from the past, especially involving royalty. Does this do that or does it try to maintain some sort of historic accuracy?

Nice, I was considering this one yesterday when I ended up watching Jaws. Checked letterboxd and the rating seemed somewhat mediocre, but now I might just watch it tonight.

I was surprised by the mediocre reviews too, as it’s much better than they give it credit for.

Just don’t be expecting blood and guts, as it’s not that type of film - other than the actual battle of Agincourt itself.

Yeh for definite. Quite surprising as it was a direct to Netflix release. As you said would have happily gone to the flicks for that.
They did give it a theatrical release last month, although not a very wide one given it was going to be on Netflix less than a month later. It's the sort of release that they do mainly to tout Netflix to those who have yet to subscribe, and if it takes a few quid in cinemas, then free money (much like the situation with The Irishman, which opens on Friday then is on Netflix 3 weeks later, which is why most major cinema chains are avoiding it).

Think it needs to be played in 12 theatres or something to be considered for the Oscars

Hotel Mumbai. Really good film. 8.5 out of 10.
Halloween 2018. Not sure if the doctor bloke was meant to be the Donald Pleasance character or not. Have to go back and watch all the old ones because for someone who had 4 films about him, can't believe he only killed 5 people! 6/10
