Last Film You Watched

Sinister

Ethan hawke thriller/horror

Very enjoyable. 7.5/10

The last horror film to scare me properly.

It`s just so well put together. Slow and super creepy, relying on suggestion and base fears, rather than gore and shocks - but when they come they are truly horrific.

Ethan Hawke perfectly cast as the struggling writer, who lets his own vanity over rule everything.

Fantastic film and one I frequently re visit.

Mrs Lowry and son ,if I remember the title ,was a real insight into the life of two people that nature threw together and ruined both .A bit like me an the ex!
Enjoyed this film, thought Spall was really good, he players an old man well.
I'm interested to know if its accurate and if he really did burn paintings.
I like the way it goes out showing a gallery of his work, also he wasnt into any of this honours list rubbish, turning down knighthood and OBEs and still holds the record for the most honours declined, what a man.

I don't think he burned them because when his mother asked he said he couldn't do it and he had put them in his loft .I agree Spall played Fagin well also .I have liked him since Aufwiedersehen Pet.
Found this ,you can read it just ignore them!!

The Favourite

Really like a couple of Yorgos Lanthimos films and given the reviews was looking forward to this but it never got it's claws into me. Everything's done really well and sharp but I just didn't find it engaging. Every conversation felt like it was there to feed the forthcoming witty and barbed riposte rather than an actual conversation.

Was only looking last night for something creepy to watch, but have watched that many crap ones on Netflix I ended watching Don't **** with cats, I'll give this Sinister a go tonight though, sounds like something more up my street

He did indeed. And that's a great surprise gift - I had to buy another copy last year as I couldn't find the first one I bought.

Only I didn't say fudge... is one of the standout scenes for me.

That's it - this is going on later, despite the missus wanting to watch The Holiday again...

The holiday - what a bore fest nothing good about it whatsoever.

Death of Stalin, it was just ok, kept me engrossed - because of the fine performances mainly. I didn’t find it particularly funny and it probably doesn’t do justice to just how absurd the Soviet was at this point in time.

Special mention to Jason Isaacs - stood out amongst some fine actors
They kind of spoiled the ending with the title.

I thought it was just a series of set-pieces , I don't understand how it won any awards.
