Uncut Gems was very good. I felt anxious and tense throughout, but in a good way!

Sandler was mesmerising. Who’d have thought that the man who was in the abomination that was Jack and Jill, could turn in a performance like that.

Minus the gangster role, he reminded me very much of Al Pacino in Scarface, when he was losing it due to his coke addiction.

It`s a film I would`ve happily paid to go and see in the cinema.

He was great, a proper screen presence, and was in pretty much every scene.

I’ve read that he put in a great performance in Punch Drunk Love, but have never seen it, so will give that a try.

It must`ve been a very hard role to play, as at no point in the film does he ever settle down.

It`s full on, 100 miles and hour for the whole film.

The supporting cast was excellent too.

Punch Drunk Love is great.

Apparently he has said he prefers to shoot films around his kids and likes to have them on set which probably limits a lot of films he could do.

Uncut Gems was shot pretty fast.

Been having a John Wick marathon today and honestly still, after all these years, can’t get over just how terrible at acting Keanu Reeves is. Like how did he even get these blockbuster roles? A pretty good performance in Bill & Ted back in the day?

Wouldn't be surprised if it's because he is apparently a lovely person. He doesn't often play challenging roles so having a nice guy on set that can do the job makes sense

Just baffles me how bad he is with even the simplest dialogue in the Wick films haha. Speaks like a robot for some reason. Good job he’s class at killing.

Just watched one of my favourite films - A Canterbury Tale (1944) produced and directed by Powell and Pressburger. Basically three modern pilgrims go to Canterbury and whilst there investigate the 'glue man' - somebody who has a penchant for smearing glue in women's hair. Here's a review :

What I'd never noticed before was an exchange between two Americans whilst in Canterbury :

Mickey, "let's have some tea."
Bob, "I don't like tea."
Mickey, "It's a habit, like marijuana."
Bob, "I'll take marijuana."

The censors must have been smoking something to pass that. :)
Anyway, it's a good film, of its time maybe but well worth a look.
