Is there a proper 4k UHD disc of that or is it a 4k transfer of the negative that was worked on before putting it onto BluRay?

As you say it would be very odd to release a proper 4K UHD disc for such a niche release.
Amazingly, it's a proper 4K UHD disc. It's a very nice release - as well as the 4K disc, it includes a Blu-ray of the film, plus they've also thrown in a DVD of Black Venus. Packaging is pretty nice, too. Set me back 30€ - apparently it's limited to1000 copies. The company who've put it out have been doing some really interesting releases for a while, but their 4K UHD discs usually sell out pretty quickly as they seem to be very limited runs. Sins of the Flesh is still in stock though: https://lechatquifume.myshopify.com/collections/bluray-uhd/products/les-charnelles

Very nice. Nice selection of Euro Shlock-horror all over that site.

Trying out Arrow's new streaming service this month though so that's tiding me over for all my Eurotrash Cinema needs. They're not streaming 4K yet but it's a cheaper way of checking out their pretty good catalogue than my usual undisciplined method of just buying loads.

King of Comedy

Great. Quite embarrassing how much Joker copies it.

I watched this after joker and could not believe my eyes at what I was seeing.

There’s a theory that Scorsese is only listed as a producer to give him a cut of the takings, instead of facing a possible lawsuit.

Beat for beat it is the exact same film.

Sounds about right. I can't imagine Todd Phillips and his team actually doing something of note but I don't think I have ever seen a film as identical to another.

i found Joker way too try hard, I bet it's aged badly already.

Portrayal of Al Capone in his later life.

Exiled to Florida, going mad from syphilis and semi immobile from a series of strokes.

A masterful performance from Tom Hardy, who surely must be ranked at the very top of the male actors.

However it’s very slow and is all about the dialogue, as Capone slides into dementia.

One to watch if you fancy a series film.

Great supporting cast too.

I found that absolutely dreadful...a hard watch.

A good, nicely paced black comedy.

Wasn’t too keen on him, not much of a likeable character I wanted to root for, but it’s overall a fine production.

Keeping in with the Scandinavian theme, I’m now watching “Mørke” on the same platform, it’s a Danish film about a disabled lady who appears to commit suicide after her wedding night, but the Brother of the decreased gets suspicious, so does some investigating.

So far I’m enjoying it, as I can see a really good twist coming up.
Watched this last night. Another cracker. Keep offering recommendations.

Street Fighter (1994)

A turkey beyond belief. Most of the budget was spent on casting JCVD and Raul Julia and it's a great example of financiers and executives interfering with every aspect and a writer / director up against a deadline and perhaps not realising he was trying to do too much. Quite why they went for a weird military dictator kidnap, criminal underworld and mad scientist hybrid film instead of Bloodsport with Street Fighter characters is a mystery.

All credit to Raul Julia though who must have known it was an absolute mess of a film but still puts in a professional and enthusiastic performance despite being terminally ill with stomach cancer during filming.

I've just signed up for this for the month's trial, so will see how it goes - after that, £50 seems pretty decent value for a year. Like yourself, I still buy way too many discs, but doing this might prevent me from splurging on Arrow titles whenever they go on sale. Plus, it's much more convenient than hunting around for ages to find the right disc...
