Last Film You Watched

One of my favourite films is Saving Private Ryan. Just realised that when that guy shoots the German at the end - that’s a war crime.

I went on a stag in Bratislava a few years ago. Our hotel was next to a graveyard full of German names. The dates matched up with the German retreat from Stalingrad.

The best language you can speak is English or French. Goodbye et au revoir.

Tom cruise late 80s to the 90s is one of the best periods any actor has ever had.

Then you have the odd smattering like collateral later on and you have to say he’s an all time great.

Seems more focused on his mission impossible movies now than doing anything interesting which is a shame.

Went to see the new James Bond last night.

I would rate it as....enjoyable.

No Time to Die

Enjoyed it, although probably about 20-30 minutes too long.

Better than Spectre.

7.5/10

GF and I had a Daniel Craig Bond movie marathon and watched all 5.

Comfortably the worst of the bunch and Id say the worst ever made (of course lots seem dated now but at release were fantastic compared to this).

Up to about halfway it was pretty good* then 2nd half it was absolutely diabolical.

Ana De Armas and Daniel Craig bounced off one another brilliantly. My gf remarked "wow" shes like a female Bond.

Lashana Lynch and the Russian scientist were dreadful in every way.

Bonds quip about the table being bigger or M smaller nailed it as suddenly Ralph Fiennes was a snivelling wreck in every scene.

Felix had lost his coolness and style while Q seemed irrelevant compared to his previous apparent skillset.

Seydoux seemed plastic but that probably suited her character and Moneypenny was irrelevant in her scenes.

Jokes???? Were they meant to be funny???

Action with Bond and Paloma was fantastic....the rest of it a snooze fest.

Rami Malik should have been a minor villain with the real story about finishing off spectre. No shock factor, suspense or anything interesting about killing them off just to have a boring villain.

One question....why did Rami Malik say to Madeleine to kill Blofeld as she owes him for saving her...to then tell Bond they both love her while hes kidnapped her and the child?

Im confused why he kidnapped them.

*Halfway I was watching a good Bond Film. 2nd half i was watching a different film totally different to Bond.

Overall
1st half 7.5/10
2nd half 2/10

This was better than I thought it would be :

The Curse of La Llorona.

Set in the early 70’s, following the murder of two Hispanic children under her care, an American social worker and her family are targeted by a malevolent ancient Mexican spirit.

Good cast, well put together and a good use of suspense to ratchet up the creepiness, rather than loads of CGI.

Netflix.

Thanks to the wonders that are Amazon/Netflix I am watching films that with me not being an avid cinema goer, I've heard of but cba going to watch them.
The latest is Unforgiven. I can see why it was lauded. Star of the show for me was Gene Hackman. Brilliant performance from him. Morgan Freeman chips in and of course Clint himself.
So many great quotes from that film

“I've killed women and children. I've killed everything that walks or crawls at one time or another. And I'm here to kill you, Little Bill, for what you done to Ned”.

Started watching Army Of Thieves on Netflix, endured the first one, gave up half way through this one.
Currently rewatching End Game in IMAX cut on Disney, soon to be followed by Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings now it’s been released on Disney.

Quite possibly my favourite film.
