Last Film You Watched

Gantz:O

I remember reading some of the manga like 15-16 years ago and really liking it. Then finding the anime series, which was disappointing. Glad I finally watched the anime film on Netflix, because it's actually pretty good. Gantz is such a great concept and the potential is enormous, so I hope they make more. 7/10

Belter of a film but doesn't look like we'll be getting another film anytime soon.

400 days on Prime.

A real marmite film, I liked it but if imagine many wouldn't. Avoid if you like films boxed off and endings spoon fed.

I remember when it first came out others said similar, and I can understand why to an extent.

My mate said it’s almost like a piece of art as opposed to a film. Trying (but probably failing) to not sound pretentious here, but the way it’s filmed, the soundtrack, the atmosphere and tension it generates made it all a very enjoyable experience for me.

Good to see Bryan Cranston again too.
Do not whatever you do watch Only God Forgives in which Gosling and Winding Refn work together again. One of the worst, most pretentious films I’ve ever seen.

The Tax Collector. ( on Netflix )

I‘ve seen better episodes of Miami Vice. It’s a true stinker.

A group of LA Latin American gangsters, provide protection at a price, for all of the drug gangs in the City.

A new and more violent gangster / gang tries to takeover ( yawn )

Considering the writer for this film, also did End of Watch and Training Day, it’s a shocker.

One to avoid.

Furioza - Netflix.

Reviews were okay but it’s pretty average really, despite some brutal fight scenes.

Police attempt to infiltrate Polish organised drug dealing football hooligan groups, using an ex hooligan.

Fight scenes are very good, especially the organised off the grid battles between rival gangs, but the rest of the film is pretty dul.

All over the place. Seemed like a TV series crammed into a film which might explain some of the bizarre plot holes.

Spot on, totally disjointed and was trying too hard to be a rip off, if loads of other films that have gone before it.
I found the plot point of the polish street gang using the Chelsea firm to import coke into their territories of Dublin and Cork just bizarre. The writers clearly think they're more 'street' and gangster then they are.

Black Crab - Swedish with subs.

Great cast and not a bad idea for a film, but like a lot of Netflix films, falls a bit flat.

Sweden is engaged in an all out war and an elite team of soldiers have to transport a mystery package across a frozen sea, that can possibly swing the war back in Sweden’s favour.

Great cast, atmospheric and good sets, however the biggest problem, is that you have no idea who Sweden is fighting or why, which just leaves this massive hole all the way through the film.

I’d like to read the book it came from though.

Netflix.

I dont think it affected the film at all.

That was absolutely dreadful.

Also, Harsh Times.

This was shocking though.

Spoilers :(
