Haven't seen the series. Wasn't really sure I wanted to and after your verdict I probably won't bother.
I'm going to see if Funeral in Berlin is available on any platforms I've got. Though I imagine The Ipcress File was on Amazon due to the series coming out.
I haven't watched that in years, so I'll be looking out for it now. In terms of the TV version, you've made a good choice - it's rubbish.
Re-watched Annihilation last night and it’s grown on me second time round. Actually rather decent.

Yeah I'd ignore reviews of his films, i thought The Lighthouse was one of the best films I've seen for years but others hated it.
