Last Film You Watched

I watched 'Scent of a Woman' again... And I know some of you lads will say The Godfather or Scarface, but to me, this is hands down Al Pacino's best performance, by a mile!
I only realised how good an actor Pacino was when I watched him star alongside Keanu Reeves in The devil's advocate. The gulf in acting class between the two main men in that movie was embarrassing.

?. Keane Reeves will always be Bill or Ted to me, I can never remember which one. His latest John Wick films are his best work as he can just play it as wooden as he wants. He should of been forced to have a scouse accent for Constantine! That would of been brilliant.

I think his best is Cruising, which is not just a brilliant film and also from a sub cultural history point of view an important one.

Serpico as mentioned above great too

No Time To Die (2021)

This felt like the longest movie in the world... because it WAS the longest movie in the world. Dafuq is wrong with film makers today? Have they forgotten how to edit?

If you enjoyed recent Craig entries then you'll enjoy this. A high quality entry in the series, but let down by one of its weakest villians. They have humanized Bond which some will like but others like me will feel its takes away from the mystique of the character.

7/10

Watched it in 2 parts, much better than spectre... Surprised at ending, not been done before has it?

I suppose it is in line with having an overarching narrative that ties the whole Craig era together...

To me the one of the appeal of Bond is that he endures. You start turning him into a scarred veteran with a gammy knee and alimony to keep then you are turning it into a more character driven story rather than a spy action/thriller.

I guess that is the way the world is going now, with everything from Dark Knight trilogy to Mission Impossible to MCU. You can't just have a neat standalone adventure now, everything has to be part of a bigger story spanning several films.

I agree the ending is decent, and a nice send off for Craig that the other Bonds didn't get. But I'm still judging it on the staples that all the Bond movies have, and how good a standalone movie it is.

Although Craig is a bit too rugged as a Bond for me, I think he's done a great job in the role and his movies hold up very well with the exception of Quantum.
