Last Film You Watched

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)

Loved parts of it, hated certain (most of the) characters. It had some great gore, but it lacked suspense. I really hate when they try to give horribly annoying characters a hero arc. Still well worth the 80 minutes runtime to see some chainsaw action in my book. 7/10

Rewatch this every so often. It's without doubt one of the few films that you can say is a perfectly made film. The characters are so endearing, the script so delightful, the storytelling devices are so common to us and yet so inventively used.

My candidate for "old movie you've probably never seen but will leave you astounded."

11/10. It's just beyond perfect.

Great film. Actually saw this one years ago outdoors on the National Mall in Washington, DC. They projected onto a massive screen and you would bring blanket, picnic. Good memories

Jack Lemmon... Grew up with his movies.

Well Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. lol
Bunch of goof balls! The Odd Couple is still a classic.

Added to list. Thanks.

In lieu of an actual Agatha Christie this year this meta-whodunnit is a fine substitute with a crackin turn from Saoirse Ronan, Sam Rockwell doing a grizzled cockerney copper and the endlessly adorable Ruth Wilson as a blonde. Fun, frantic and sharp.

Disney +

We also had a go at Cats just to see how bad it is. Got through 20 minutes, brain-meltingly terrible. I watch a ton of bad movies and enjoy most of them, but this is genuinely painful to watch.

It wasn’t bad. Knives out was a better whodunnit if you haven’t seen it.

And Cats? You couldn’t pay me enough to sit through something as horrific as that!
