Last Film You Watched

Not at all mate. Just saying it's a disturbing scene Tarantino could have done without.

So then, what you're saying is that if Reservoir Dogs was filmed today, it wouldn't differ that much from the original, but if Pulp Fiction was, it would be a completely different movie?

Well I watched both within the last few years and with pulp fiction I thought 'yeah this definitely feels a bit old now' whereas I didn't get that at all with reservoir dogs - I think genuinely good films should never really feel old

Pulp Fiction was a quintessential 90's film...

But with RD... A psychopath lopping an ear off with a straight razor while jamming to 'Stuck in the middle with you' will never grow old!

There's a lot more universe exposed in PF, whereas RD is a bit more of a pressure cooker nearly single environment thing. Does JB date similarly?
I don't think so... She's an air hostess, and it was filmed pre - 9/11.

However, that scene were Robert de Niro and Bridget Fonda are in the parking lot looking for their car, and he can't find it while she's in his ear taunting him...

Then just out of pure frustration turns around and blows her away was insane! 😂

Absolutely superb scene.

As was him trying to explain it away to Ordel lol

Aliens. Have watched it millions of times, but it is just one of the best things ever committed to the screen

"I'm Burke. Carter Burke. I work for the company. But don't let that fool you, I'm really an okay guy."

It was on ITV4 last week and I just couldn`t resist staying up to watch it.

I reckon it would be a toss up between Aliens and Blade Runner for my specialist subject on Mastermind, closely followed by Blade and the remake of Dune lol

Same, pulp fiction hasn't dated very well
That opening scene in the diner with Tim Roth & Amanda Plummer, was, in my opinion, the best opening to a movie ever. The way she changed from a sweet talking, mild mannered, young lady to an absolute psycho in the blink of an eye left me awestruck. Superb dialogue between Plummer & Roth in the build up to her screaming out how she was going execute every MF last one of them.

I can't let that movie pass without watching it or mentioning how excellent Bill Paxton is in it.

The whole supporting cast, no matter how small or big their role was, were excellent. There are a lot of writers out there who could take note on how to build characters with only minutes of screen time so that people actually care when they are killed off

It may well be for some, I didn't say it's a bad film - I just don't think it has held together as well as RD in the long term

Anyway, I don't mind Tarantino but I'm not really a huge fan so maybe I'm getting out of my depth with him here

Just rocked up on Netflix.

Utter plop.

Somehow Matt Smith manages to be even worse than Jared Leto.

How a studio put the money up for this is beyond me.
We've just done this in. It actually wasn't as awful as I was expecting from all the bad press.
That said it feels like a film from about 20 years ago, one of those post-Blade/Underworld slew of identikit bloodsucker flicks.
Too po-faced for the MCU, not dark enough for a decent exploration of the themes, it just ends up in a dull dead zone achieving nowt.

And yeah, Smith is 'kin woeful.
