Last Film You Watched

Just finished watching monkey man,got to say was surprised by it what a film!
It actually wasn't bad at all mate. When I saw it was an Indian film, I honestly thought it was going to be a Bollywood film with choreographed dance scenes, not an action revenge film with choreographed fighting scenes. 😂

My only 2 criticisms are that it was about half an hour too long. They could have cut the flashback scenes a bit shorter, and then there was the casting of Sharlto Copley. 🤦‍♂️
The quintessential South African actor who just blerts out stereotypical Saffa phrases: 'Howzit okes?! Jassis boet, my china's and I had a lekker jol this weekend!'

He is not a good actor. Please stop casting him in films. Not every actor/actress coming out of South Africa is going to be Charlize Theron.

I love American Psycho, I watch it all the time. The script, direction and Bale himself are perfect. Conversely, I hated the book.
With all due respect, I honestly think that 90% of the investment bankers/stock brokers/venture capitalists/hedge fund managers etc, on Wall Street are pretty much cocaine snorting, emotionally stunted, egotistical psychopaths. Writing a book and script on this shouldn't be too hard. 😜

As for Christian Bale playing Bateman, a psychopath...

That's a picture of a kid who has definitely buried a few of the neighbors pets in his backyard. 😱

Anyway... Moving on, I gave this horror a watch this week:

I was expecting so much more based on all the reviews and hype I read about it...

It was disappointing in the end, and there was so much more they could have done with the plot.

You can give this one a miss.

Death Warrant

The Muscles From Brussels plays a Canadian undercover cop sent into a brutal maximum security jail to find a killer. Has it's moments but definitely one of the lesser peak era JCVD films. I don't think he does the splits once and the haircut is far too sensible as he has yet to blossom into his peak mullet years.

Plus points though for some terrific haircuts from the supporting cast, muscles, JCVD reaching out across the racial divide, progressive trans characters 90's style, nerdy teen hacker and a wildly tone deaf love scene where our hero pretty much forces himself on a young lady who's just been through an obviously very harrowing sexual assault.

5 roundhouse kicks out of 10.

He would do well in an action remake of 'Gone with the Wind'.

'Frankly my dear, I don't give a van damme!'

"I'll get me coat... 🤦‍♂️

The Fall Guy

Gosling is great, but he had to carry it and really needed a comedy partner to bounce off, like Russell Crowe in The Nice Guys. Emily Blunt bought no comedy.

The stunts are fantastic but film 30 mins too long.

Swerve the cinema and wait for it to come on TV. 5/10.

Went last night and you’re spot on.

It’s a cheese fest, but good fun.

I thought Blunt was miscast and Hannah Waddington was comically bad.

It was like someone from Hollyoaks, had been drafted in to star alongside two A list actors.
