Happy Birthday, Clint Eastwood

Reckon I'll smash a few of his out in the week ahead.

😜
Definitely start with the 'Dollars' trilogy.

But all of his westerns were good...

I didn't realize he made so many! 😳

Do you want to wake up with a bang in the morning and jump clear across the room?

Set Shatner's 'Khan! Khan!' as your alarm ringtone at full volume!

Gonna ruin it for you mate... 🫢

Anyway, watched the latest action revenge film....

Pretty good! If you enjoyed Monkey Man, you'll enjoy this one.

Oh, and if you don't recognize the narrator's voice, here's a hint:

Yip, H. Jon Benjamin! 😂

The guy who does Archer and Bob's Burgers.

i always like to deep dive into a movie after watching it and find out more, think i read that the original script matt damon wrote was completely different to how it turned out and loads of people turned down his movie but harvey weinstein liked it and told him to make some changes

i guess it explains why robin williams won an oscar for his acting in the film and matt damon didn't

talking of bill skarsgard though, small world, his dad was in good will hunting

Wow! That is a coincidence...

Totally unintentional on my part. 😳

Done pretty much every Western over the past 6 months.

Probably do the Harry Callaghan ones (apart from the awful V)

Just been to see Hit Man. Didn’t really know much about it going in but thought it was really good. Loosely based on a true story. Really good performances pretty much across the board, especially from Glen ‘Hangman’ Powell (who co-wrote the screenplay with Richard Linklater). Definitely worth checking out. Will be on Netflix next week I think if you miss it at the cinema.

Awful? To quote myself....

The Dead Pool

Dirty Harry continuing to just be a straight up murderer.
Liam Neeson playing a luvvie director with a pretty disgusting ponytail /rat-tail
Hair Metal Jim Carrey gurning and miming to "Welcome To The Jungle".
G'n'R as extras at a funeral - Slash later fires a harpoon gun.
A technically well made car chase which is also possibly the stupidest car chase in cinema history.

It's something. Not something necessarily good but it's something.

It's by no means awful. More a 'cultural touchstone'.

Watched this Woody Allen flick the other day.

And I must say, after seeing Timothée Chalamet grow a pair and own it in Dune 2, and then watching him act in this film as a neurotic, obsessive compulsive 20 year old-something New Yorker (which is basically a typical Woody Allen character in a typical Woody Allen script 🙄) was a little bit disconcerting...

Good movie, but for me he undid all his hard work earning a reputation as a badass in Dune. 😂

Shouldn't that be:

"Reinforced his status as a legitimate actor who has range"

?????

Lol, yes… That is one way to look at it.

But don’t you know how sometimes a certain actor or a certain role that an actor plays can just rub you the wrong way?

I think that’s what happened here.
