Last Film You Watched

I watched "Kompromat" a French film based loosely on real events. A French theater director lives in Siberia and puts on a racy play, which seems to anger the local authorities; after the opening night, the director goes out with friends and starts dancing with one of the women who worked on the play--she is the daughter-in-law of the local FSB agent. This results in a series of accusations of pedophilia and eventually a conviction and house-arrest of the theatre director. So he must escape.

I liked it. On Kanopy (in the USA)

My daughter wants to watch star wars for the first time.

Do I do it in order of release or chronologically based on the story. Thinking order of release because I can't be bothered watching the new ones...
Depends on how deep you want to go. If you are looking at taking her through all of them then there are quite a few routes to take. I would definitely start with A New Hope and then Empire. At that point you can jump back and do Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith. Then Return of the Jedi and finally the final trilogy. You can’t ruin the big reveal at the end of Empire.

I would personally just do them as they were released. And then add in Rogue One and Andor. Also completely fine to sack off the prequels and the third trilogy if she isn’t liking them that much.

Maybe just bin the whole Star Wars thing and turn her into a Trekkie?

@ClausThomsen can give you some guidance in that department.

I think you may have dreamed this..

Or it was from a sketch show!! 🤣
This did bug me for a while, so I did some searching and this was all I could find:

Close, but no cigar. 🤷‍♂️

It depends.

If someone is likely to have a meltdown when any female (apart from the one who gets chained up in a gold bikini) is given even a slightly empowering role or gets upset if the perfect male hero shows even a modicum of negative character development then I'd recommend Star Wars.
