Grizzly Man (2005)

Werner Herzog’s unique documentary about the wildlife loving but somewhat crazy Timothy Treadwell. A bit of a lost soul environmentalist who found solace in removing himself from society and spending his summers living alongside wild grizzly bears in remote Alaska.

The documentary features tons of fascinating footage shot by Treadwell himself along with numerous accounts of his adventures from those who knew him; the moments where the unnerving coroner is in front of the camera are notably bizarre.

At some points it’s beautiful, at others dark; it’s awkward, funny, compelling - yet ultimately tragic. Herzog uses all his skills to present to us a picture of a character so complex that not even the cold indifference of nature could work him out. The Revenant it ain’t.

4 bloodied claws out of 5.

Deep Blue Sea.

Still really daft.
Still good fun.

Some classic kills, and actually holds up pretty well for its vintage. Saffron Burrows is really badly cast in it though, she's obviously a very good actor but she's rubbish in this, and a bit unlikeable for a lead. In fact she's a weak link in an otherwise really good cast, odd.
She still looks good in her undies mind you.

Ah yes, I remember this one.

As Samuel L. Jackson described his role in one of the interviews he did: 'They ate me!!!!! A motherfcking shark ate me!!!!!'
