For Kubrick buffs:

Kubrick wanted MC Escher's help in making 2001 a "fourth-dimensional" film, but the reclusive artist (Escher, not Kubrick) wasn't interested. He's known for lush madness like this:

What an experience that would've been!

Been rewatching the nightmare on elm Street films last week. All still pretty decent for what they are. 2 being the weakest link for me. Still watchable but the homoerotic themes running throughout the film didn't fit in the series. I still quite liked 3 + 4 for the comedy element they brought to the series. 5 was a bit meh but enhanced the lore a bit. Interestingly for me on the blu ray version they have removed the god awful 3d section at the end of 6 and for the 1st time it didn't completely ruin the end of it. 7 is much weaker than I remembered when it came out. Didn't seem as clever as I remember but the bringing the character into real life has been done to death in recent years, I think this was the first to do it. Freddy v Jason was alright, my lad liked it best for the fight scenes and in your face humour. May or may not watch the remake tonight but its fairly recent so seeing as I've forgotten it already I probably won't bother

Documentary called All This Mayhem on Netlix. Fantastic skating documentary about two brothers who were better than Tony 'The [Poor language removed]' Hawk but drugs ruined them. Also will change your opinion on Hawk.

I work for NASS Festival and we've just booked Hawk to come and do a demo at the show.
Then two days later I watched this documentary and I'm not so sure I'm even bothered about watching the demo now.

Thought it was widely known that he was an idiot

I thought so too, but the documentary just made him seem like a monumental bell.

I was shocked by it all and the footage appeared to back it all up. Of course he denied all those allegations though, he was the America's star child of skating. Either way though im sure it'll be a pretty cool demo.

Watched Spy Kids 1-3 with the kids today. Never seen them before but I thought they were really good for kids films. Thoroughly enjoyed them and so did the kids. Some big names in them as well which was a bit surprising. 9/10

I have a real soft spot for the Elm Streets. Essentially they are so bad but really define the 'so bad they are good'!

I prefer the Friday the 13th's but appreciate both. Important horrors in the history of horror movies.

I bloody love Freddie vs Jason. It has some amazing one liners in it.

Grave Encounters. Bit formulaic but decent scares and one surreal idea. My girl looked away at least 3 times and we both shouted out a "woaaaah!" in one scene...so decent stuff.

7/10
