Last Film You Watched

Comedies are generally looked down upon as not being worthy. Same happens for the Oscars etc. Personally I love comedy, so I feel they should get more respect, especially the ones that are more than just cheap jokes and lazy slapstick.

Black comedies (such as Coen Brothers films) do pretty well/highly praised all round.

700 reviews!! Impressive!

I've written about 30 user reviews on IMDB...rated about 700 films if that's what you mean.

Really handy that site for film buffs to keep track, and I trust its average user ratings more than anything else on the web (Rotten Tomatoes is useless).

Do you really? Transformers has 7.1. Once you have built a decent library, Criticker is of of the best i feel.

I haven't mate, sounds interesting ?
Great film, very French in that it's quite talky and not necessarily romantic, although it's about love. Here's the start of Roger Ebert's review (which the rest of is quite spoiler-y):
"Un Coeur en Hiver." A heart in winter. There are those who somehow cannot love, who were born or made without that gift in their personality. In all other ways they may be complete, but something is broken inside, and love, which can heal so many things, cannot repair it. "Un Coeur en Hiver" is the story of such a man.
Daniel Auteuil, who was in Manon des Sources, plays one of the leading parts. And Emmanuelle Béart is stunning. (I think they got together in Manon des Sources.)

L'Enfer (Hell), a Claude Chabrol film where she plays the wife of a paranoid husband who has married out of his league, is quite good in an over-the-top way as well.

hiya coolie...well, Transformers The Movie (1986) is a 9/10 for me, tho' the CGI modern one was a poor 3/10. Interstellar is also a 3/10 yet I think that has a whopping 8.7 on imdb. There's always exceptions but quite often my rating is very close to the imdb rating.

I'll check out Criticker

Really good once you have rated all/the majority of films you have watched. Massive database.

Thanks mate, I'll look it up. I also like the early stuff that Gerard Depardieu did before he went all Hollywood.
