Saw Men In Black 3 last night. Really enjoyed it. Great story, top acting (Josh Brolin as young agent K is uncanny), funny and good effects. If you enjoyed the first two, go see it!

Deservingly so. It's sometimes too slow and a bit long mind, but I think the director wanted a strong sense of foreboding.

Oh and artsy stuff aside, you get to see Kirsten Dunst's glorious baps.

Lol, this. Going on sat to see this with my fam. Don't think i've ever actually watched any of the Alien films all the way thru, but really looking forward to this...

Recently seen Safe, with J Statham, which was quite good, Senna and Closer To The Edge, both excellent msport docs, and Tuck And Dale, which is a pretty funny 'reverse' comedy horror

Same universe but a completely different set of characters with a story which doesn't actually intersect with the main Alien story in any way. Were it not for the fact that some of the monsters look similar it could easily pass as a totally different series. Saying Prometheus is a prequel to Alien is like saying Iron Man is a prequel to the Avengers because they're set in the same universe.

I just got back from watching it, and it was brilliant. Thoroughly recommend people go and see it.

Anyway, one film I saw this year which really surprised me was 21 Jump Street. I thought that would be a bit gash but it was really, really funny. Jonah Hill's still funny even now that he's not fat! He wrote it as well I think, so fair play. I like the lid.

Yeah, it began life as that, but they kind of went of in a different direction apparently.

Glad to hear someone enjoyed it. All reviews I've read/heard so far have been negative.

I bet there are loads of little nods to Aliens though, that you'd catch on repeat watches. Seeing this Sunday hopefully, looking forward muchly.

That's not a prequel ffs. A prequel is something that occurs before the original narrative but is released after it. Iron Man would have to lay the background for The Avengers (which it didn't really, the stories weren't connected at all except for Iron Man being an avenger) and have to be released after !

And yeah, 21 Jump Street was good.
