Last Film You Watched

Watched 'A Fish Called Wanda' on Iplayer.

Great film.

Kevin Kline is hilarious.

Going to watch Ratatouille on it later as well.

Some great films on at the moment.

Just finally finished watching all the Harry Potter's.

Deathly Hallows part 2 completed! Was boss. Found part 1 confusing but part 2 gripped me from the off

Now I hate fantasy stuff, but can honestly say I enjoyed every single Harry Potter movie

Enjoyed the first few as they were fun and really enjoyed them getting progressively darker and darker.

Very good stuff.

Watched 'Shutter Island' last night. I liked it.

Watched that last night. Took me long enough to get around to it.

It was really good, yeah.

GIGANTIC RAGING SPOILERS

I love a good twist but I think the last line at the end was great, adding another mini-twist. Clearly he wasn't insane at that point and decided he'd rather be a vegetable than live with the guilt and memories.

Shutter Island is so awesome, loved it. I love Dicaprio tbh.

I watched four films yesterday. The Smurfs (lol), The Adjustment Bureau (good), abandoned (terrible but sometimes **** films are watchable) but the last one was The Rite with Anthony Hopkins.

Enough to make you take Jesus Christ as your lord and saviour (and I'm Indian!) but to be honest the film doesn't particularly show that that is enough to avoid hell! Wasn't that scary though has some disturbing scenes, 15 rated.

No it's not !

Same universe but a completely different set of characters with a story which doesn't actually intersect with the main Alien story in any way. Were it not for the fact that some of the monsters look similar it could easily pass as a totally different series. Saying Prometheus is a prequel to Alien is like saying Iron Man is a prequel to the Avengers because they're set in the same universe.

I just got back from watching it, and it was brilliant. Thoroughly recommend people go and see it.

Good stuff. I've read reviews and they have not been very generous.

I'm not sure how they managed to not make it a prequel to Alien considering it is the same director and has the space jockey.

I'll wait until I see it so I can actually join this discussion.

Clearly it is a prequel, however there will be more films that bridge the gap between the end of this and the first film. As for the characters - the films are called Alien..., not Ripley etc etc... Sorry to go all Damon on you..

A prequel is a literary, dramatic, or filmic work whose story precedes that of a previous work,[SUP][1][/SUP][SUP][2][/SUP] by focusing on events that occur before the original narrative.[SUP][3][/SUP] If Y is a prequel to X, then Y's storyline precedes X's, yet Y is released at a later date than X. Therefore, a prequel is a work that forms part of a back-story to the preceding work. Like sequels, prequels may or may not concern the same plot as the work from which they are derived. Often, they explain the background which led to the events in the original, but sometimes the connections are not as explicit

Watched "Heavenly Creatures" earlier, good film about the relationship between 2 teenage girls which ends in murder.

Unfortuantly it had the worst choice of song at the end you could ever think of. Yes, it was THAT song that THEY sing, i couldn't believe it :(

Watched a film called 'The Ice Storm' by Ang Lee with an all star cast and thought it was dump. was made in 1997 but set in the 1970's i can't think of anything constructive to say it was really dump.
