On that basis, do you think a Chinese take-over could be more advantageous to us than an American one? I know this is sweeping generalisation stuff, but I would be interested in your opinion on this.

The thing would worry me about a Chinese, or indeed any takeover from the Far East, is they would come up with some schemes which would be total anathema to the fan base.

Like if the new owner wanted to change our shirts to yellow or green or sommat because it is his favourite colour.

Or change the name of the club in some subtle fashion.

I would deffo rather have an American taking over than the Chinese, which as has been pointed out, would come complete with some Peking government seal of approval.

Based on one takeover at Cardiff?

And moores consortium is going to be a leveraged buyout because the glazers did it at man utd? Lerners gone crap but he bought the club out right, invested then pulled the plug after they got nowhere. Made awful desicions especially hiring/firing of managers. Still not a leveraged buyout though

Haven't Man City got some sort of Chinese investment deal?

Not the same as a full takeover of course and the main backing is still from the Middle East but iirc it was a fairly large chunk of money. Perhaps a "testing of the waters" before going solo?

Edit - sorry @mightymoyes, hadn't seen your post, didn't mean to duplicate!

Thanks. The investment by CMC into City's parent company is very different from an acquisition of a premier league club. The funds invested by CMC will largely be spent in China, it was the classic Chinese methodology of acquiring specific industry expertise for use within China not investment overseas. Therefore I maintain that they have not invested directly into the Premier League.
