@The Esk could this possible scenario be current boards way to make transition safer etc. ..
Not sure this has any bearing on the current discussion, but an interesting coincidence at least
*this guy didn't play in the NFL long enough to have any money, so don't get hopes up...
Often see this "pick the right investors" but not really sure how that works. Anyone who is prepared to pay the asking price can promise the earth, but if not contractual then once they have the keys....No mate, there's no way any investors would want his future input into the club in terms of how it is run. A strictly Honorary position perhaps, subject to the obvious concerns re his health, but absolutely no involvement or influence in the running of the club.
The best the Board can do is pick the right investors. Pick the right investors and the problem looks after itself.

Yes Esk but that still to an innocent like meself equates to promising the earth. You can buy my house but don't dig up the veg plot, 6 months later there's a concrete parking area. What can you do about it. No guarantees once the deed is done.I said the following in an earlier post mate:
"In practice there's very little the outgoing board can do to control a new owner post takeover.
The best form of control is to make the right choice in the first place. I would hope that the Board have asked for and received business plans outlining the new owner's intententions and how (with proof) they are going to fund them.
Intentions would include squad funding, stadium plans and funding, commercial development plans, EiTC plans and plans for fan engagement plus matters such as dividend policy intra-group/common ownership lending policies etc.
That and a thorough examination of previous business practices is about as good as you can get."
To even contemplate this Board actually stooping to new levels of incompetence and not do their own such "due diligence"....well nothing could really surprise any more with them, but that really would be staggering!I said the following in an earlier post mate:

Lets face it, Bill and Co's strategy of 'treading water and waiting for a free new stadium to land' can be improved with the minimum effort by new investors.
Eh I'm not sure how big of an impact (negatively) it would have. Moores and noel are part of a consortium interested in Everton so its not as if he'd be soley bankrolling either. Would be interesting if he was exploring some kind of connection a la NYC FC and Man CityIf he's trying to get an expansion franchise and buy Everton, I find it quite alarming.
Bankrolling both for starters and how much will the focus on EFC be lost?
Thinking out loud here.
Brilliant...Bob, why don't you start a new year's resolution and agree to only post something positive and constructive rather than the negative sarcastic stuff we've all read a hundred times or more.
We're not looking for minimum effort, we're looking for what's best for Everton.
