6 flipping yellow cards against Rovers and there hasn't been one bad tackle. Ref an idiot
Didn't realise the clown of a ref was English!
Byrne's night turned sour – perhaps bitter, depending on what would happen afterwards – as he was sent off for a second yellow for a silly scythe-movement tackle on Ingimundarson with 16 minutes left, though the Dubliner had clearly been fouled in the build-up.
English referee Jarred Gillett also missed a clear foul on Farrugia, the locals incensed; before Rovers had properly cleared, Viktor Oerlygur Andrason had a half-chance but Pohls bundled it away.
Gillett failed to spot an even more obvious infringement on Seán Hoare and assistant manager Glenn Cronin saw yellow for arguing with the fourth official when the notice was put up for the injury time that would befall a ragged Hoops.
I never heard of Gillett before. Has he reffed many Everton games? I hope I never see Gillett again
Two yellows for Jack Byrne, (2nd was stupid by Byrne in fairness) but five others booked and there were no real dirty play from either side.
Not football, but anyway this must be the thread to ask : is it worth watching ?
Surprised this never took off massively this side of the sea.Well worth watching - the best field sport in the world, although I only played Gaelic Football and soccer.
This is the GAA Thread mate - https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/gaa-2024 (In the Ale House).
Enjoy!
I will be reasonably neutral as a Dubliner 34 years in exile in Kilkenny, but leaning slightly towards Clare. It should be a cracker. 83,000 at Croke Park.
He is an Aussie, but yes he was terrible. I have never seen such a poor performance from a ref he gave us nothing which makes the win even better. Pity about last night and losing to such a poor team but this team Europe aside has been poor all season, scraping a win at home versus a poor Dundalk a couple of weeks ago says it all. The cash from the euro win and the sell on from Sinclair Armstrong is a god send and can see a few of the higher earners will go. Need to spend next part of season getting team ready for next year.Didn't realise the clown of a ref was English!
