League of Ireland 2024

Womens cup final is in Tallaght on Sunday. Athlone and Shels the two best sides in the country go at it again. Last years final was a cracker and this will hopefully be the same. I know most won't but if you have a couple of hours, it's well worth a trip to it tbf. I'm going to head up from Cork for a look anyway.
Seems the WFAI are as arrogant as the blazers.

I think Ciaran has been slightly misrepresented this week. His original point was that with the home based squad sessions having been done away with and the new u23 set up having no start date, there is a huge void that is not being filled. Hannah Dingley was appointed head of Womens and girls football six months ago. Not one WLOI manager has heard from her since the day she was appointed. How can you be head of Womens development and have not had one conversation with the managers in this league?

HT. Shels 1 Waterford 1
Drogs 0 Rovers 0
Dundalk 0 Derry 1
Pats 1 Galway 0

So ATM Derry on top on goal difference 55 points same as Shels.
Rovers and Pats level on 53.

Was at Oriel tonight. Relegated with a whimper. Derry got a deflected early goal and never really looked under threat aside from a brief spell at the start of the second half. Derry did not look like a title winning side. But nor do Shels...

A bit of a fracas in the boardroom post match. I'd be amazed if Dundalk can even field a team in Division 1 next season.

Seen some of the reports, past owners and current owners squaring up to each other. It's mad.

Tightest finish I remember in over 50 years.

Four points between the top 5 with 3 to play.

I am amazed that Rovers are so close after a pretty banal domestic season although delighted with European campaigns.

I think Shels can just hold on.I like Duffer and wouldn't begrudge it.

we have two aways to the Boynesiders finishing at home to Waterford.

The crowds should be huge for the run in for all those clubs

KOH!!!
I've got tickets to that last game against Waterford. Must confess I've never watched a single minute of this league but thought I'd take in a game whilst I'm in Ireland.

You'll enjoy Tallaght stadium. Best in the league. Incredible finish to this league season and the last two sets of games are going to be gut wrenching for all the supporters of the four clubs still in with a shout.

Hand on heart, Rovers should not be this close after losing nine matches out of 34 but then the others have lost nearly as many.
