You just never know, we might have got the bargain of the transfer window here. He looks a poacher type of forward and we defo need a player of that nature. Chicharito MkII would be handy.

What gives with the fixation over his passport status ?

There is an awful lot of Italian heritage in both Uruguay and Argentina, and to qualify for dual citizenship under EU rules, as long as one of his parents or one of his four grandparents was born in a country of the EU, he can obtain a passport of that country by heritage status.

It's neither a mystery nor rocket science, no need for a work permit means he has dual citizenship with an EU state, most likely Italy.

Footballer or not, if you can gain another passport and citizenship legally through the family heritage route, you would be crazy not to as it opens up so many opportunities in life.
