Oh Everton.

Let's hope this lad is a hidden gem, and not another Gueye/Silva/Vellios/pretty much any player other than Coleman we've purchased for £1m or less.
Stones only cost 3m, Galloway 1-2m (Won't become Stones or Coleman good but will still become a good footballer). All it takes is one player to come good though mate, if you can get one Stones or one Coleman out of 5 or 6 young signings that's a good damn good rate.

Have a look at some of the players Moyes signed from lower leagues on small fees: Silva, Gosling, Mustafi, Coleman, Gueye, Jutkiewicz, Stones and Vellios. Realistically we wouldn't have spent more than 10m on those 8 players, yes only two of them are still here, Coleman and Stones but together they're worth over 60m, six times the amount of money we originally outlayed on several unproven player.

Not everyone will make it, odds are most won't. But to be able to find these gems you have to be willing to take a punt.

That's a better rate than Liverpool's 15m+ players tbf :)

From where he hails, desire and hunger are a given.

Add that to the eye for goal his video showed he possesses and we could have a very good player on our hands.

I reckon in 2 years time we will either be selling him to a European powerhouse for an obscene sum or getting our money back from someone like Celta Vigo.

My feeling leans toward the former.

Strikes me you are absurdly optimistic.

Lets hope this is successful signing. Ive been saying before that Martinez style craves a forward with ability to poach and move quickly inside the box. This fella has potential to be that.
Rom isnt that kind of a forward at all. Rom works best in open play and counter attacks.
Cant wait to see him play. But tbf...He's a total mystery :) Welcome anyways. Work hard and you will be loved.
Who in the squad can deliver that killer pass?

Tim vickory. Talksports correspondent in south america, just said both Rodriguez and funes mori will struggle bigtime in the prem. He said martinez claims that Rodriguez had been playing in a tough uraguayian league is waaay off the mark. Last years top scorer in the league now plays for celta vigo B team in spain...

He said funes mori is not premier league quality st all and wont get a game!

Lets hope hes wrong lol

I would rather take RM and our scouting staffs opinion on players over a two bit hack on the BBC gravy train.
They may not work, but we wouldn't have lost much comparatively. Every transfer has an element of risk, let's see how they go.

funes mori is in the argentina squad alongside garay just behind godin and otamendi. not sure what their other centre backs are like apart from demichelis, but he's in good company there. a lot of south american defenders take their time to find their feet over here, but we've seen the improvement in demichelis.

sometimes these people are right sometimes they are wrong. you can only tell after they've played a considerable amount of time really.

i just hope rodriguez turns out to be another chico hernandez. if we put the ball in the right areas it looks like he'll score - the worrying part is that we don't do that. otherwise lukaku would be on 30 goals a season.

Far too sensible a post for Deadline Day, Jack.

We should be spending on players to improve our ability. We have a decent striker - the best in so many years -, so why should we go chase some unknown spanish speaking player, when we have a history of south american players who can't adapt to the Premiership, when they arrive in such an early age?

Don't get this one, neither Funes Mori, but anyway...let's wait and hope for something good.

except Godin is Uruguayan, He'll have a hard time replacing Godin from the Uruguay national team.
