If he was willing to accept a slightly reduced wage and a 2 year deal, which you'd be inclined to believe he would given we've stood by him through an injury ridden period, then yeah definitely.

Mate no offence but that's madness, regardless of the reasons he has played 2 good games for us in 3 years, if we start using that as the criteria then we would end up never releasing any player

Kone is a good player in a position we are woefully short of back up in.

Reason we have been woefully short on back up their in part is down to Kone basically being injured and not good enough when he wasn't mate, shouldn't the onus be on bringing in someone who is good enough rather than with persisting with someone who will be 32/33 (and wasn't that good to begin with) if we keep him on and has not shown much in 3 years here?

Let him show what he can actually do when not hampered by injury and maybe you'll change your mind.

Correct. He was useless before he joined then useless and injured...

Couple of games this season and now extend his contract = madness. Should wait till jan and maybe offer a 1 year extension max....

Crazy to think that Leandro Rodriguez is actually Kone and McAleny. This thread has taught me a lot of things.

Also, at 500k, Leandro was the lowest transfer fee for a player that wasn't brought in on a free transfer. Everton that.

FFS i just said Kone has really done well and if he hadn't done so well things would be looking dire for our fowards in general, and better for McAleny in particular. Also, due to that we might've addressed the striker issue with a bit more urgency and ended up signing someone else than this guy. Just commenting, like. Butterfly effect and all that.
