Bookmarked for checking in during next DecemberThe nativity on the Leeds forum is wild. They're a good team, they have a good coach and have talented attacking players. But comments such as us 'being embarrassing' for us focusing on defence (whilst in a winning position) and time wasting (again, whilst in a winning position) shows that their priorities are gone. Defence is the foundation of any team - our main strength lay in our defensive players and naturally our set up is such to utilise those strengths. Did we get saved at times by an outstanding goalkeeping display? Yes. Were we also denied a stonewall handball penalty? Yes. Suggestions of being lucky are way off the mark. We were denied the golden chance to go 1-3 up.
I lived in Leeds for a few years and was thrilled when they were promoted so have no ill feeling towards them as a team or city, but it's so annoying when defensive football is labelled as 'bad' or the 'wrong style' just because it worked.
I'm not too worried about what the millennial hipster Leeds fans think about our football philosophy vs theirs... I'm looking forward to taking their best player in the summer and then watching their slow, agonising slide into relegation. It will be a shame for their older, more reasonable fans though.
