What do you think he will become? 50M quid player? I think he will become an average 15-20M player. Nothing special. He won't lead us to glory. He won't go to big things and win CL with other teams. He's a local lad and everyone wants him to do well, I get that. But why lie and brainwash yourself into thinking he will do all these?

I've made no predictions for Barkleys future, I do like he's a young local lad who's a fan and extremely talented though. Who wouldn't?

lower. I'm not pretending I know it all. I'm just saying what I believe. It's about opininons right?

I think he will become a good player and he will make it at Everton but his 'hype' is OTT. He won't become ANYTHING special and by special, I mean CL winner, he won't score us important goals in finals, he won't be the difference in us getting top 4 etc
Hm, I differ slightly from your opinion in that imo he'll become pretty good, but not exactly Maradona, like - when we win cups I believe he'll be a more or less integral part of the team, but there are a lot of things he has to work on.

Time is on his side for that, however, so hope is still alive.

And I'm not a fan of hype myself. lol

So all CL winners are special? I don't think so. Barkley is a very good player that hasn't found his feet yet. Plenty of time for that.

The pressure he has is huge. Look at Ledson, hes a good player for his age and he had the hype since he's been 15 if not younger. It doesn't do them any good. It's brilliant we have local lads playing for the club they support but I think its bad in other ways. If I were a parent of Barkley, Ledson then I would tell them to get out the club if not country for their career but obviously I shouldn't be saying that here.

Here's the rub...I didn't see him use any one of those attributes consistently today, especially for anything productive.

Well he had a different role today rather than the dynamic position he often gets asked to do. But he also played some lovely through balls in the first half, sadly for Kone and not Lukaku.

But as I've said hes still young and inexperienced, and it seems you're not disputing his talent here but surely you're not disputing his potential?

Never disputed either...just his willingness to make use of it. The amount of times I see him fail to attack space is shocking, considering the ability to exploit it. The only concern I have with Ross is his timid play style. Maybe some of that got beaten in to him by Moyes but he's got to come out the shell he's been playing in as it's really holding him back IMHO.

He's a baby in football terms, name me one English player at the age of twenty who had his ability and was showing it week in week out?
