In the late 70s I came up every season and it was scary as hell. We bought about 1000 or 1500. Might be some who post on here might remember terrorising some 16,17 year old Leeds fans. Always used to be a reception committee at Lime Street. Think away fans in those days apart from some of the older hardnuts were always on edge whether they would get a good hiding. Things changed with the ICF West Ham and Chelsea becoming organised everyone caught onto the idea. Train journeys developed more of an edge than at the grounds themselves.Yes we would. You never used to bring any fans to Goodison in the 70’s?
I was at that game. My mate I was with had a load of vodka from the bar. It didn't improve his mood.Preferred them when they were losing home league games to Cheltenham in the third tier.
Tongue firmly in cheek on that comment. We needed Everton to win that game. ,I think beginning of season we had an injury crisis, remember going to Barcelona and getting played off the park. We played catch up all season,Bowyer was our key player despite the court case .Well that was daft, wasn't it?
Cardiff my mate had my ticket,my brain had had enough. Birmingham gave us 1300 year before some hooligans had smashed the toilets up. We only had 2000 this season.Brighton night game I attended when it was bad even the regulars were fed up. 10 hours on a coach for a night match is the ultimate test when you're playing [Poor language removed] with some crap players. This is not true, but ok. Your away support has always stayed loyal but what about the 900 to Cardiff midweek? 1300 to Birmingham midweek? 1500 to Brighton midweek? 3500 to Blackburn 3pm Saturday? Failing to sell out at our place the other season when it was a reduced allocation and it still never sold out. As I say , you have top 4-5 away support in the country , but let’s not make our demand has always been there to take 5-6k away.
Is it true Leeds are committed to spending £40 million on the two loanee's now they are promoted?
If so you would imagine thats a good portion of their budget eaten into already.
Only really Fulham & Villa have invested large amounts when coming up but they are owned by billionaires.
I know their are rumours of qatari interest but obviously unless that comes to pass I would imagine Leeds will be keen to ensure they dont spend daft money and risk financial trouble should they go back down.
I think Villa would be in alot of trouble if they drop but atleast have a £40 million+ asset in Grealish to cash in should they go.
I would hope the rumours of us selling Delph to Leeds is true - makes sense from a Leeds perspective as he would likely only cost a few million and provide some decent cover for the midfield when fit.
Not knocking the numbers mate. Those are good numbers all things considered . Just pointing out there was a time a few years ago where cracks were starting to show and demand wasn’t there like it normally is.Cardiff my mate had my ticket,my brain had had enough. No not like you would imagine. Costa’s load to buy was agreed at 16 million to be paid 4 million per year over the course of his contract 4 years. So this summer we’ll spend £4 million on him. With Augustine we are committed to pay £20 million but Bielsa doesn’t seem to want him any longer as he couldn’t make the weight targets to play for him. He’d likely be in shape enough to play for any other team but not him. Whether that is because of attitude who knows. But it’s Bielsa that’s said no. At the end of the day though if Augustine no longer wants the move & leeds don’t want it. Leipzig can’t make him move.Is it true Leeds are committed to spending £40 million on the two loanee's now they are promoted?

How long is a piece of string?
Everton’s side of 70s should have won more, bottled it a few times.
Ipswich cleaned up a fair few trophies on that time, I don’t consider Ipswich a big team, same way I can’t class Leeds as a big team off winning trophies in the 60s.
As you said, Everton should have won a lot more in the 80s.
When I look at a team like Everton, Liverpool, Tottenham or Arsenal they are teams with a sustained stability of being in the top flight.
I see Leeds and the last 40 years of Football has seen Leeds in the top flight for less than half?
Successful period, absolutely... but sustained success to be deemed a big club? I don’t think so.
Bigger Club than the likes of Ipswich, in fan base absolutely, but just another Newcastle for me
I see Leeds repeating the same mistakes that Fulham and Aston Villa made-namely changing too much too quickly.
You still rambling on? Leeds are nowhere near the size of Everton or Villa,Forest,Derby Sheff Wed are about your levelbut Newcastle are a big club. They haven’t won anything for years but neither have Everton 25 years, 28 for leeds. You might have sustained top flight football but in reality what has it achieved. Everton are a big club never said they aren’t so I aren’t knocking you at all & yes leeds have Been no where in that time but has anything changed since 2004 in terms of trophies? As I’ve said I don’t buy the how much have to you won Or just existing in a division meaning that’s what makes you a big club.
we’ve have similar sized historical stadiums, we both have storied history with trophies & great players along the way. We both have big renowned fan bases. We’re both big clubs
