legends of the decades

I liked Kanchelskis, but having him as our man for the 90’s is poor. He’s was only at the club for 2 seasons, played 52 games. I think people remember him because of the type of player he was. He got the fans off their seats, but I would put, Dave Watson, Barry Horne and Duncan Ferguson ahead of Kanchelskis to have that sort of “legend of the 90’s” status.

That's fair. I was looking at it more as 'favourite player' of the decade rather than 'legend'
I need to rethink this when I'm sober lol

I understand your angle and I kind of agree (I did pick Kanchelskis though), but longevity would mean that Hibbert is a must have for the 2000’s and Pennington is a must for the 2010’s

And I think most people were gutted when we sold him to Fiorentina… he did more for me in those 2 years excitement wise than anyone since I think… maybe peak Arteta.

I don’t just look at length of time, but for me he just wasn’t here long enough to be considered, coupled with the fact we didn’t win anything in that time, not his fault, but if I am picking my man of the 90’s I would even put Rideout ahead of him because he scored the goal in the cup final. Plus he was here from 92 to 97, so covered a significant period of time.
