legends of the decades

For me growing up in the 90s there was nobody that reflected that time better than Ferguson, passionate, completely erratic, capable of glorious moments but also ultimately a let down long term.

Then I think it’s pretty clearly
00s Cahill
10s Coleman
20s Richarlison
For me!

Honourable mention for Fellaini because nobody else mentioned him yet and he was genuinely outstanding for a few of those Moyes years

Forties—T G Jones a brilliant footballing centre half whose career like many footballers of that time was spoilt by the Second World War.
Late Fifties and Early Sixties - Bobby Collins who dragged Everton from being continual also rans to the very brink of being the best club in England before he was prematurely sold to Leeds Unt.
Later sixties Roy Vernon joint with Brian Labone.
Seventies- I can’t say anyone really stood out but I’d go for Martin Dobson for his skilful football passing ability and some very good goals.
Eighties- A mixture here because we relied on solid teamwork:I’ll give it to Neville Southall because there would be less arguments.
Nineties- Dave Watson a very good player and excellent captain who ever gave less than 100%.
00’s -Give it a miss although one of the best players who ever played for the club gave us two great seasons and was sold by Kenwright to save the club financially.
10’s - Baines/ Pkenaf.
Twenties- Still waiting for one to emerge!! With Anthony Gordon looking like he could be a contender.

Good shout for Dobson.

I tend to be in agreement. Our best player of the 90's but didn't really have enough influence in his short time to establish himself as the legend of the decade
Dave Watson clearly for me. Served with distinction virtually the entire decade. Even Southall in his book "Everton Blues" (in 1997) said how important Dave was to the team and how he had "more hunger and desire than anyone at the club"- even then, when Dave didn't have much left.

Yes Watson is my man for the 90's

Beat me to it. Between him and nev. Give it to Watson because we got full 90s out of d him whilst Southall lasted to 97
