But people keep saying stuff like 'ah man what an inspiration them doing so well will be for us' and 'now we can believe we can do the same'. Do people not think every other team will be thinking that? Every single side will think they can do it now. It's just become a million times harder to 'do a leicester'. I even heard Burnley's boss saying he reckons they'll take inspiration from them next season should they come up.

That's not even to mention the fact the usuals will now make it even more impossible as they will be hurting bad this season so will will ensure it doesn't happen again.

Martinez arrived and said 'I'll get Champions League' and we felt all positive. But why didn't he say 'I want to win the league'? Because there's a mentality amongst the also rans that it's unachievable.

But now Leicester have shown it is not. And hopefully that will shatter the illusion we've been under for decades.

So yes, we did need Leicester to inspire us, cos no-one/nothing else was inspiring us.

I honestly think it's a bit pathetic that we need them to do anything for us.

But I'm not asking anyone to think the same as me.

If our players are doping maybe they should give some of the Leicester stiffs a bell and ask them what they're using

Cos we're deffo using the wrong type

It is pathetic. But it is what it is. It's not like we've nominated a team to show us the way, it's just a by-product of what's happened this season.

It's also a bit insular to think it's just us who will be inspired by them.

Every single team will be thinking the same.

West Brom will be thinking 'if they can do it so can we'. So will Stoke. So will Swansea. (Villa...probs not!)

Hence why I think it will be harder than ever before.

I'm not bothered about how hard it is. I just want our mindset to change. And hopefully, it has. And if everyone else's has too, then that should at least lead to a more entertaining and less predictable PL.

I don't really think we will win the league any time soon but it'd be good to have it back on the agenda.

It's just my opinion on the whole thing. I just think it's made it harder for a few reasons.

The main one being that the usuals won't be letting this happen again I'm pretty sure.

I'm not saying anything is certain of course. Just my feelings towards it.

I maintain that Leicester deserve to win the league, just that if rather they didn't. But they're going to anyway.
 
@ijjysmith could you explain why you don't want us to win the league, I think I missed it lol

In all seriousness I totally get where you're coming from. Looking at your team on paper it's hard to remember a better Everton side (certainly in the last 10 years). Individually you'd go through both of our squads and maybe only pick out 3 or 4 of our players. Our collective strength and team spirit is why we're on the cusp of an incredible title.

I bet you wish you hadn't posted your view in the first place now lol

My best mate is a Leicester fan too so I'm not that annoyed about from a non Everton point of view.

He, like most of you I imagine, can't quite believe what is about to happen. He still bangs on about Muzzy Izzett being the best player he's ever seen.

I have nothing against Leicester at all.

But with my Everton head on, I'm very bitter and jealous of the whole thing! Soz!
