Give examples then lolIn sport altogether? Most definitely.
In football in the last 5 or so years? Debatable.
In English football in the last 30-odd years? Most definitely.

Montpellier was just about as shocking as Leicester, and there was one in Turkey where a mid/lower league table won it a few years ago. Fairly sure absolutely no one expected Atletico to actually win their first title 2 (?) years ago as well. Denmark winning the Euro's after failing to qualify is also a thing, as is Greece being chosen as the outsider for even exiting the groups, but managing to win the tournament.Give examples then lol
Taking nothing from your achievement as winning the league is as you rightly say much harder these days and it's an achievement in itself. The only comparison I'm hearing is Forest from the Clough years. Maybe I'm just biased but I think it's harder to win the league nowadays.

Nevertheless, they were promoted from a lower division, that year won the league and then went on to win two European Cups back to back.
That's ludicrous! So for me, it's got to be Forest with yourselves a very close second.
I wasn't disagreeing I just thought your post was a little vague. Remember when Chelsea were failing miserably in the league, so they got Di Matteo in, who managed to win the CL against all odds?
Sports overall: I heard last year around the Grand National that there'd been a horserace in the mid 90s where the jockey was at something ridiculous like 25000/1 and managed to win it, I think that's slightly more shocking. Loads of olympic sports have random champions nowadays as well, it's great fun and variety imo.
Loads of near-wins as well (as, sadly, you're still not as nailed on for it tbh), so...
Oh I know mate, it's alright, just provided examples you asked like lol didn't mean to come across as a bit aggressive here! SozI wasn't disagreeing I just thought your post was a little vague. Good examples here though
I hope we win it at that game as its been changed to a 5:30 kick off so the celebrations in town will be mentalDualityNSNO said:Oh I know mate, it's alright, just provided examples you asked like. lol didn't mean to come across as a bit aggressive here! Soz
Still hope you win it, despite what I put in brackets up there. Just saying that any team can drop points/lose games, but you guys have looked solid so far... Be good if it's already decided by the time you play us so we (somehow) beat you though, just cuz we'd need the points more than you if you already have the title lol
Just wondering why you've not managed it in 130 odd years thenit's harder to win the league nowadays.
But... I did say it is the bigger shock in England in the last 30-odd years?Disagree with duals here, hard to think of a bigger shock in english football ever.
European football and english sport you can come up with examples but not english football.

If they win it has there ever been a bigger shock in sport?
In English football in the last 30-odd years? Most definitely.
Because we weren't very good........Just wondering why you've not managed it in 130 odd years then
Ah, I see.You might have meant that but you said the exact opposite of that, hence my confusion.
