It's been our chance conversion that's really let us down recently mate. It clicked in the second half at Fulham after a moment of brilliance by Sigurdsson and we took complete control of the game after that. Without that kind of spark though we're just generally not industrious enough in the final third, despite some of the good football we are capable of playing at times.

In other words.. we are frustratingly inconsistent and have been for years![/
has merson called you a bag of revels yet?

he loves that quote for a side who are a bit mad form wise
he has yeah lol
Very close to ‘life is like a box of chocolates’

We are very similar teams I think. Both have decent players but inconsistency is the issue. Our main issue is getting Vardy involved. When we play without Iheanacho he can become quite isolated

What if Coleman is fit? If he is he should replace Kenny. Cenk has to be given a run of games to see if he can get something like a scoring touch back. A win at Leicester would be brilliant, a draw would not be bad either. I think someone said this is a must win game. I disagree; it is an early game in the process of undoing the shambles left by predecessors. As has been said, Marco needs a few more transfer windows to reinstate us near the top, i.e. 5th or 6th. Loads of patience is required, and I believe most fans are realistic.

Horses for courses though. I think we need pace up top on Saturday.

Why do we need a two?

Because we play a 4-2-3-1. It doesn't mean both of the two have to be holding players, and Davies isn't a holding player anyway - he gets forward and that allows Gana to do the mopping up - but does have that discipline to maintain his position.

You play Gyfli deeper and, for me, you're wasting a lot of what he's good at because he's much better in the final third.

I've seen Gylfi play deep in a 4-4-1-1/4-4-2 on three occasions now - v Lyon at home last year, for Iceland v Nigeria in the WC, and against West Ham the other week.

Not once has he ended up on the winning side and not once has he been able to shield the defence and, frankly, this idea that he's going to turn into a pass master is a bit odd as well. His passing is good but it's not like he can ping a 40-yard diagonal every time, even though he can do it now and again. He's at his best with the ball in that area in between the opposition box and the centre-circle.

And while I'm not saying Davies is great at it, I'd rather have him there away at Leicester than Gyfli, and have Gyfli high up the pitch to start off with at least.

Now, if we played a flat three in midfield, I'd be all for it. Gyfli has played in a flat three for Swansea and played well. A three means that there is more chance he can bomb forward without leaving gaps behind him. But we don't play a three, at least not yet.

I did intend it as an attacking set up, sort of a 4-1-4-1

DCL wil me in the Winslow the morning before the game in disguise. Got a tip from a reliable source.

think tosun is a better player than DCL atm, but DCL pace along with theo and richarlison will cause their very slow centre backs trouble, tosun is perfect for Maguire and morgan

Davies played there, mate...

Gylfi didn't once play in a two with Gana against Fulham? He played as a second striker pretty much, dropping back/wide when we had the ball.

Siggurdson played in a two v West Ham for a lengthy spell in the second half and it was awful, he’s not quick enough to play in that position.

Agree mate.

Teams expose his pace there. His lack of pace in the 10 position doesn't matter too much, because it's all about quick passing in that role and he has pace around him in Walcott/Richarlison etc.

Gylfi isn't as slow as people make out, but there's a big difference depending on your positions on the pitch.

Feeling positive about this game...positive we'll lose. Our lion-hearted lads' heads will be down and the losing mentality that, from top to bottom, pervades Everton FC will be prominently displayed.
Either 2-0 or 3-1 to Leicester.
