Leighton Baines - next Everton manager (but one)?

….if we’re picking a future manager from playing ranks, I’m going for Matty Pennington ahead of Leighton Baines.

Huge intellect, model professional. Many top managers were very ordinary footballers. A few years behind Baines but I’ll suggest he might be one to watch when his playing days are over.
Insight, or intuition @Eggs? This is a real 'out of the blue' name to suggest, although a very interesting one.

I'll agree with that, let's hope DCL scores more than 50 odd goals for us.

Thought it was Ancellotti who told him to stay between the sticks and stop running around like a headless chicken. Ferguson had plenty of time to coach him before Ancellotti came. He only improved under Ancellotti not Ferguson

But we really don't know if that is the way it would be with him over a prolonged period.

We don't know how he would approach each game.

Not for one second would I compare Duncan to Simoene or Conte but they also seem to kick every ball in every game.
Who knows mate, I've just got a bit of beef with Big Dunc for not realising his massive potential as a player. Sad old get me.

As usual I put you right on the money. You shoot straight from the hip and some people reject it as they aren’t comfortable with truths. One day they will appreciate your compassion for them. Can’t wait for Bainso as our new chief.

I cant abide what he did running to the press behind RM's back. He put a realy decent man right under the cosh when he needed support from his team's senior players.

If he does become a manager maybe he'll grow up and learn that his actions were poor.

Still, he has a lot of respect in the game, and if he has a talent for managing teams and getting results then he'd be welcome as a future manager of Everton as far as I'm concerned.

….pure intuition.

He’s an outstanding academic, his sister is studying to be a Doctor. Clever genes. I know from the club how highly thought of he was as a young professional & there was similar feedback from his loan spells. Seems a very special young man who will be a success in whatever he chooses to do after he finishes playing.
