Leighton Baines

Baines would be excellent on the left side of midfield, and given the freedom to roam and seek the ball.

Common misconception - Baines is so good because he's hard to pick up coming from left back, if he played left mid the opposing fullback would be able to mark him easily.

LCAB reckons he'll go. Ffs.

He's just applying logic to the situation, just like he did with Martinez doesn't mean he has inside knowledge or anything.

We will accept a bid at some point, be that £18m or £24m or £30m. United know we will they've done it before with Rooney, they know Kenwright's words have no backing. They're also in a unique position because Moyes knows what would tempt the board it's just up to them to hit that number. Then it'll come down to Baines, United can offer him what ever he wants money wise and CL football and trophies. So to me it's all down to Baines because they have the money to spend if they really wanted to and it'll be up to him.

He does have inside knowledge though.

He's so effective because he makes his runs from deeper areas of the pitch, he needs all the space in front of him that LB affords him.

I don't think you want him roaming around, seeking the ball. That's not his game at all.

Baines and Coleman give the formation the width it doesn't have from playing guys like Mirallas and Pienaar in outside midfield or forward roles. It's an amazing attacking trait to have and very difficult, if not impossible, to replace with a competent defender.

Wrong. Baines attacks from deep so nobody can track him.

And the opposition has sussed the Baines/Pienaer left flank attack and it became less effective. Baines is a good footballer can pick the ball up and start our attacks from the left side of midfield and given the chance to roam would be even more effective. It is about pass and moving into space to be able to use your ability and technique. Something Baines has in abundance, he can cross, suss out a threw ball, hit it long across the park so as to switch the point of attack.

I think Moyes must want revenge on Kenwright, he has the equaliser Edward Woodward to sort Bill out.

This feller will have told Moyes the cash available and Moyes would then have told him exactly where he wants that to go and in what proportions. There is no director of football at United, so there is no excuses whatsoever for Moyes on this valuation, no fig leaf for him to hide behind that's being presented on his behalf by even some Evertonians.

Moyes has sanctioned that first bid and he'll say how much the bidding stops at.

I think tbh he's a bit like sheedy has a mate who is an agent or something and gets bits of info from time to time but makes out to know more then he dose. With those cryptic posts so if something doesn't come off he just says well you interpreted it wrong.

But I guess we only have to wait till Monday to see how clued up he is tho eh.

Incredible mate. The feller's pulled his kecks down and shat on the club and there's excuses being trotted out for him.

Hardly a surprise; he did it for the entire last season he was here and people wanted to give him a medal for it.

The idea that Man Utd bid for Baines and Moyes is completely in the dark about it is absolutely fascinating.

Yeah is right it's not like SAF is still there working from behind the scenes like is it...oh wait.

If you belive that moyes has been let off the leash before he has even officially been put in charge then some thing is not right with your argument.

The lure of Manchester United and the chance of cementing his position as England's first choice left back for the 2014 World Cup will turn his head. He may have came out and said he cannot wait to play under Martinez but head must be battered now that United have come in for him, if a bids accepted Baines won't say no.

He averages 9 crosses per match and 20 completed passes in the final third. He's more effective than ever.
