Is @L3Baines actually Leighton Baines? Because whoever or whatever that is said today Baines was in talks with Man United.

Asif that is how Baines would handle the situation anyway. He has too much class for that, anyway he aint f*****g going

We massively over-rate our players.

Looking at a few forums, for different teams, even European teams. Would seem that nobody rates Baines anywere near what we do. And the £20 Million is laughed at by most !!!

People will say "fuk dem lid, baines is a worldy la" but these are the teams that would be buying him, and players are only worth what Clubs will pay.

We did the same with Jags. Arsenal wanted him, offered around £11 million....we wanted £18 Million apparently.....!

Is all these valuations based on what we got for Lescott ??!!

Some people have used the argument that Baines' value should be based on what he's worth to us, but that's utter nonsense. By that logic some lower league players who get poached by PL teams should be costing tens of millions.

Popcorning aside, £15m is a reasonable offer for a 27 year old left back with no real European experience, saying he should be costing £20m+ is madness.

If Andy Carroll can be sold for £35m, then Baines must be in the stratosphere. Clubs value whatever they want, especially if the player isn't spitting about staying.

If you assume we do not need to sell, and Baines doesn't want to go, then what he is worth to us is the only benchmark.

Would anybody be happy knowing that 15m for Baines could buy us a decent left back, a better right back than Hibbert/Neville plus a genuine winger?
