I think we can still get a couple of very good years out of Baines.

Needs to sort out his corners though.

At his age mate with those injuries at operations its not easy to come back. I hope he does, but im not confident he will.

I'm not confident what we saw of him this year is an accurate reflection of what he is capable of, for most of the players actually.

He was alright in Martinez' first year and the rest of the defenders have not looked anything impressive for the last two seasons. I'm willing to put it down to a lack of defensive coaching and poor tactics.

....we know Baines is at his best linking with like minded, talented players who can pick a pass in the tightest of situations. It's been a while since he had that. I'm not saying you should build a team around your LB but we are not playing to his strengths. I also wonder if he's playing through the pain barrier with his ankle injury.
